Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, now run by children Manuel, Isabel & Isaac Muga Caño. Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice, unmistakable Muga. 4 grape blend from the Haro district (70% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), palate shows cherry and currant flavors with espresso, vanilla & toasty oak tones. Soft full tannins, lively acidity on a medium+ finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Nice value! Great vintage! — 5 years ago
Perfect juicy vino with Felicia at Emilie’s, DC. — 6 years ago
Another interesting wine. The one thing that I recognized on the nose was the smell of a light, soft blue cheese. Weird but everyone else at the table agreed. Extremely light wine with notes of pear, nectarine, grapefruit. Almost clear in color but the finish was very nice. Super long finish with a slight spice — 7 years ago
Reading the reviews, this appears to be a somewhat divisive wine. But I come down squarely in the fan camp, delicious and surprising. Profound aroma. Not quite at the level of Terroir AlLimit, but about $125 cheaper at Bar Isabel and a fine substitute. — 7 years ago
Very powerfull almost too heavy, but very tasty southern rhone wine — 9 years ago
So. Damn. (Elegantly). Crushable. Rangpur lime, a petrol-y olive oil, memories of a summer fruit pie, a sprinkle of tarragon, crisp mineral-y tang that fades into a beautiful calcium carbonate lime zest finish and a hit of aromatic joint…oh, wait… — 3 years ago
Remarkable texture. Pricey but worth it. — 5 years ago
Isabel Ferrando makes wine from the southern reaches of Châteauneuf. Ripe and silky. — 7 years ago
18.5. 2009. Best white in a long while. Has it all. Light gold, v deep nose of white fruits. Perfect balance, with just the right acidity for this Full, rich fruit. Very very long. I still have a few bottles of the 09 (the first vintage) - Mme Ferrando tells me she has none left, even for herself. Mine will last for a long while if I can refrain from drinking them - but I do have following vintages... — 7 years ago

Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, on his death children Manuel, Isabel and Isaac Muga Caño took over. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe fruit, smoke & spice, A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, & Graciano from this top Haro producer. On the palate, ripe fruit, cherry & blackberry, firm dry tannins, & smoky oak. Aged 30 mos in French & American oak + 18 months in the bottle before release. On the finish a touch of vanilla with a lingering ending. Will continue to improve! Nice! Small production. — 7 years ago
Jaune clair
Slightly muted but very fruity nose full of red raspberry, cherry, plum and blackberry. The deep color deceives the delightfully juicy, fresh and fruity palate. Juicy flavors of black raspberry, red raspberry and black cherry leads to big, fresh acidity with a touch of earthiness and tannin. The finish is long, fruity and a little earthy. — 9 years ago

Popped and poured. Isabel’s Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is a bit of an outlier when compared to most CdP Blancs. While others tend to work with Grenache Blanc, she has instead focused her attention on Clairette which makes up 80% of the blend with Roussane rounding (no pun intended) out the balance. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in a mix of glass demi-john and old foudre, the 2021 Blanc pours a very light straw color. The nose is a fascinating and luxuriously perfumed blend of peach, yellow flowers, fresh asparagus, and pastilles. The fruit is confirmed on the palate with some added minerals for good measure. Acid is medium and quite lovely, giving a very nice lift to everything. The finish is long and savory. Drink now through 2031 with ease. Could go beyond that…but why? — 2 years ago
