Yes, the rustic vibe was vibrant on the nose, but a real sense of place & terroir poured through on the palate.  dense, and chewy yet with a medium weighted mouth feel. delicious food wine or highly contemplative picnic in the park to sip and savour. Stunning maturity in the cellar - concentration of brambled fruit - reds/blacks. A touch of spice from the oak. No substitute for complex hot summer fruit. Holding out much better than the 2007 hot vintage. This is consistent with the stunning 2010 Merlot that M. Finot made.  — 3 years ago

100% Verdesse, an extremely rare wine, only four hectares exist in the world. Medium body, golden color. Subdued notes of apricot, honey, hint of vanilla. Would easily mistake this for a Condrieu. Really excellent. — 7 years ago

Fee-nominal…the winner (so far) of the 2010’s PV challenge. At 11.5 years from harvest, this beauty from Matthieu Finot sang like a concentrated Right Bank medoc…layers of dark berries, violet & herbs with smoky matting. Still proving enough tannic punch to cut through house grilled cheeseburgers and squash. Bold yet balance. Thank you Ellen for this wonderful gift :) — 2 years ago
