Very easy drinking. Just enough sweetness to combat any harsh acidity. Not acidic at all, really. Smooth. A little earth and leather on the nose. Apple and light citrus on the palate. Tangerine, I was reminded of. Some sort of faint flowery note as well. Maybe violet? No lingering coppery aftertaste that I find in some sparklings. You're always ready for your next sip. And therein lies the danger. Easy to finish your glass rather quickly. Cheers! — 9 years ago
Grape wood, yellow oak leaves, baked apple, dried blackberry, jasmine incense smoke, pine bark, cran -black cherry fragrances, elegant mouthfeel, aggressive tannin initially, though balanced between fruit and oak, red currant, cranberry, stone-licking, dusty and dry. Twigs and berries on the stiff fruit and cedar wood finish. I like this immensely, but certainly not for everyone. This is cave tools made of flint for gritty combat, not fruit bombs dropped by mad scientists in the hopes of sugaring the masses to death. Hirsute cave ladies, the moon is full, I think you know it's time for bone rattling, plaintive ululating and the coming of Boognish. — 9 years ago
Scent of dried pineapple on the nose, with kafir lime on the palate, a good amount of acid, and a slight, slatey finish. 11%abv. This wine is DRY, like Sahara desert dry. I had this with spicy chicken, thinking any inherent sweetness would combat the heat... Wrong! More like adding gasoline to a fire. Bad pairing, good lesson. But I look forward to revisiting this over the next few days, as on it's own it is quite refreshing. Would like to try this with herbed chicken or something else neutral like that. — 9 years ago

Hm, this one was wound up way tight and took a good 30 minutes before opening up to some beautiful light bramble and flowery goodness. Dried herbs, fresh cranberry, maybe some fennel notes but not unpleasant or too conspicuous. Very restrained and would likely pair well with many dishes - we had chicken noodle soup to combat the cold! — 8 years ago
