Not sure it can get better than sipping this at roscioli in Rome. They had an awesome by-the-glass list, and killer amatriciana and burrata. — 11 years ago

Absolutely love this stuff! Had it last time in Rome but this was the 2009 vintage instead of 2008 and it was as amazing as I remembered. — 12 years ago
Legendary and ultra rare Cab/Merot blend from the now defunct vineyard of Prince Alberico Ludovisi, near Rome. Very few cases made it stateside before the final vintage in 1995. Bone dry; 12% ABV, perhaps the most brilliant robe of any Italian red I've ever tasted. Perfect balance, fresh, subtle, unmistakeably Italian. A tiny bit shy of fruit but not a flaw. A real treat and I think my most interesting wine in the last 5-7 years! Maybe it cost me $65 or so.... — 12 years ago

After experiencing the '12 in Rome last week, I found the '13 at Cardiff SSM. Very nice, slightly less well integrated than the '12. These wines are excellent with food, I am learning to appreciate medium bodied wines for their ability to pair well with so many dishes. — 8 years ago
