Crystalline character to the red fruit, and while this is a large wine there is very little sense of heaviness. No heat on the finish (this makes me giddy). Dusty fine Grenache tannins. Something feral and wild, sweet skunky earthiness (the garrigue manifests as a rosemary, tarragon, sweet fennel odor that is perfectly beguiling). What a regal Southern rhone wine; what a vintage! It will be so hard not to drink these and allow then to blossom! — 10 years ago

Garrigue herbs, floral notes and warm fruits with a touch of licorice. Great structure and medium tannins will allow for good aging. The 2011 vintage is more herbaceous and less fruit-forward than is past years, and still too young - took an age of decanting to get it to shine. Dont open yet - hold. Lots of potential. — 10 years ago
