Oh moon mountain what magic do you bestow.... This is a lovely rose — 9 years ago
This is an excellent red blend for the price point. We drank this with grilled burgers, a grilled corn slaw and roasted banana fosters ice cream sundaes. Ty Caton makes great reds! — 5 years ago
Wow, the OAK. So, I can tell why people are rating this one 88 and below, but I would imagine that most would know that this wine rally still has quite a bit of oaked astringency. After 2 hours of sitting in the decanter, this wine disappeared rather quickly. Next to a 2015 Ty Caton Moon Moutain Cab, this was the 'baby' of the night. And definitely had the nose and palate as well. The nose was dark chocolate, brambly black cherry and almost a 'purple fruit' type of characteristic that was coaxed out after a few hours of sitting and oxidizing. I have one more of these, which won't come out to play until 2021-2022. This wine is horribly locked up, but showed decently. I would rate this one a 91 based on the experience today, but likely will improve quite a bit with a few years in bottle. — 7 years ago

Full bodied and Bold. Hints of chocolate, black pepper, plum, dark berries and tobacco. Smooth finish and balance. — 7 years ago
Fabulous. Went great with Ham, grilled carrots and a cauliflower pasta dish. Would go great with Bolegnese. Buy a case if you are lucky to find under $30 a bottle — 8 years ago
One of our favorite vintners--Syrah, cab, merlot + blend. Excellent with our tri-tip tonight :) — 9 years ago

Hasty decision to uncork this reveals obvious infanticide. Tight, reductive, un-integrated oak the first day. After a day in the wine fridge it’s starting to come alive. That #moonmountaindistrict fruit starts unfurling with black/purple berry preserve nose, subtle baking spices, kola nut, cocoa powder. Lush acidity on palate, chewy tannins that compile on the palate, coasting finish. I’d love to see this wine evolve at 5 years and 10. — 2 years ago
