Happy birthday to me! This premier cru demonstrates all of the subtleties and clarities that make great burgundy great. Smelling this wine was like being in a field of hay and strawberries on a crisp spring day; drinking it was like making slow, tender love to an electrical outlet. Stays in your nose’s mind and lingers on your palate far longer than you would expect a delicate ten year old white wine to do. Nothing overpowering whatsoever, everything perfectly harmonious. Pretty darn good. Tremendous length, nice acid balance, and no sign of premox. This could keep going--will plan to sit on the rest of my bottles — 8 years ago

Complex, beguiling aromas of white pear, honey, layers of almond meal, creme brûlée, custard. Terrific mouth watering acidity. Thanks Matt — 10 years ago

2011 Domaine Bernand Moreau et Fils 1er Cru La Cardeuse Chassagne-Montrachet Monopole - Very fresh nose of fresh-picked cherries, plums, hints of cocoa, fresh-picked mint, and subtle hints of cola and white pepper. Juicy with the fresh-picked cherries, fresh pomegranates, and hints of orange pith, gushing on the mid-palate with cranberries and blueberries, finishing with cocoa, light sandalwood, and peppercorn. Medium Tannic structure. — 9 years ago

Amiot burgundies are elegant and this one fits the bill. Drink cool. Cherry notes - bitter in a good way tannic, earl grey tea, chalky? Great stance oak well managed drinks like a premier cru. Much better then the 2011 I just checked my notes. If you have this one in your cellar consider yourself lucky but drink it now it is delicious. 🍷. — 8 years ago
