Sweet like a carbonation taste but not overpowering. Dry but not bitter finish — 2 months ago

"Aux Damodes" Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

After tasting aux chaillots 2014 last week and seeing that fully soaked cork I went on and opened one aux damodes in the same vintage. I believe it's my very last bottle...
The nose is showing a bit of age with strawberry and cherry notes, hay and that irony thing I like so much with Pinot Noir from burgundy. There is almost a rusty touch in the nose that makes me think that we shouldn't be waiting some more to pop and pour this one. The palate is superb. Good acid drive, superb fruity notes all along with cherry and strawberry playing hide-and-seek all along, superb mid palate with a layer of tannins that disrupts a rather easy going, fruity palate so far, and a finish with fruit and that nice layer created in mid palate for a good while. It's fresh, it's fruity, it has a touch of complexity and character you could expect from.a wine with this pedigree. Awesome!

Les Chaignots Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

Very last bottle of this. Again the cork is fully soaked. The nose is typical cherry and red berries, along with an earthy thing and a bit of hay. The palate is acid driven and very long. There is a nice matter, a gentle mouthfeel, a nice cherry and red berries note all along, almost a sweet spot on the sides. In the rear some tannins pop in creating a layer of disturbance in the mouthfeel that remains hanging in there for a very long finish with fruit. It's very good but it's starting to show early signs of aging and I don't believe the bottle could have waited much longer before going south. A little less fruity than aux damodes, a bit stricter and longer. Cool nevertheless — 2 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Nuits St. Georges Pinot Noir 2016

Draws a fine line between concentration, grace, and structure. The black cherry and pomegranate fruit is deep, mixing ripe with a touch kirsch. Classic NSG savory notes come through but framed by an alluring floral side. Game, iron, hung meat, licorice, floral pastille, sandalwood and cedar. The fruits richness shines up front on the palate, and he wine departs with a compact mineral touch and very fine tannin. This packs a lot of length, complexity, and balance for a village wine with purity that really helps it punch above its weight. — 5 years ago
