Derek Brammer's Staff Selection, Fall 2014: “Often customers will ask me to recommend a full-bodied white wine Bouchard Pere & Fils was founded in 1731, and has aquired many prominent estates over the years. Today, Bouchard is the largest owner of premier and Grand Cru vineyards in the Cote d'Or, Burgundy's most famous area, and is one of the largest and most well known producers in France. This 100% Chardonnay is blended from some of their own vineyards and some from negociants in the region. Delicate aromas of apple, peach and pear arise from the glass with lovely floral touches to enhance the palate. Full-bodied, crisp, and clean, it strikes a nice balance between the minerality of the terrior and the acidity of the fruit. A perfect wine for fish, seafood and fowl dishes. Especially wonderful at Thanksgiving.”

Rich & lush; hitting on all cylinders. I just can't seem to keep from drinking this fine wine. At this rate of consumption, long term cellaring may not happen. Great night with Liz, Derek, & Clara. — 9 years ago
@Derek Hearst These do in fact age impeccably well! This was the star of the show amongst a dozen top flight wines a few weeks ago for lunch. — 9 years ago
Worked 70 hours this week and this is a hell of a Pinot Noir on which to rest my laurels. In reading the reviews, I noticed Derek Hearst thought it suffered from heavy acid, clearly he forgot to properly prepare the wine as a real sommelier would do. Let the wine open up: fruity, dark berries, noticeable absence of tart, medium acidity, tannins - not over the top, rather the mouthfeel continues to remind you of the beautiful Willamette grapes you're currently enjoying. Pair with Black Rhino horn, Minecraft, and dead babies. — 9 years ago

My overall favorite of the night. Amazing nose of wildflowers, perfume, and baking spices. Bold but balanced palate with dark blue fruits and a finish that just approached sweet. The Derek Jeter of wine. Incredible! — 8 years ago
