06' Barnard Magrez Cabernet. 83% CB 12% CF 5%PV. WOW... A rare bottle indeed. This was sourced from the famous Vineyard Thorevilos (Abreu). Aaron Pott was its winemaker in 2006.
A 2 hour + on the decanting. All the elegant black fruit you can imagine in this glass. A 30+ finish. It's certainly in the discussion of one of the finest 2006's I've had out of Napa. Drinking well now & has another 20+ great years in it.
Barnard Magrez is now sourcing there fruit from Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyards. If you didn't get enough Realm Dr. Crane 12/13's. Hell… just want to add another great wine! This certainly could be a viable option(wish list). Benoit Touquette is "NOW" the winemaker😉👍!!
I'm not saying the 12 & 13's are another Realm Dr. Crane. They're the same winemaker & sourcing🤔. Just a thought... — 9 years ago
Big time. Sharp tannins but smooth as hell. Definitely a grape I want to learn more about. — 10 years ago

A beautiful golden yellow in color leads to a delightful aroma of freshly squeezed lemons, with hints of oranges and minerality. There is a fresh, crisp, clean taste to this wine. A saline taste at first that gives way to good citrus favors. A good minerality of river rocks and limestone on the backend. I can see anyone sipping this on a warm summer evening and enjoying the hell out of it. — 12 years ago
My first bottle of MM. Inky dark, hell its midnight black. Floral and dare I say violet and spice nose with flavors of currants, pine needles, charred meats, freshly picked black and blue berries all rapped in soft tannins that evoke a voluptuous mouth feel that stays on your tongue like a romantic sexy kisses that lingers. Nice;! For sure Germany. that country is sick as hell — 9 years ago
Dense as hell, from the best year of the 80s. Lightening up around the edge but still quite dark; wonderfully thick nose full of tertiary aromas and woody, smoky blackcurrent skins. Lacking the typical cedary St Julien nose and so fat I though it was a top St Estephe. Bordeaux the way it should be - none of this modern style crap; this is wine built to last. — 10 years ago
Let me begin by saying holy hell what a wine!!! Incredibly memorable. Gorgeously aromatic, dried meat and spice, dried tobacco, bright red fruit, great acidity. Tons of life left. What a wine... — 10 years ago

Priorat!! One of my favorite regions for sure. This one is delightfully pleasant. Cinnamon and floral notes on the nose. Cherries, strawberries, and even some unexpected blueberries on the palate. Since this bottle isn't oaked to high hell, there's a fresh and rustic taste here. There's somewhat of a sharp edge that I'm really digging too. While just a little baby, this is made for drinking now. — 9 years ago

This wine was sexy as hell! 1961 vintage and still showing supple strawberry and rich red currant. Fresh crushed rosemary, dusty earth, leather and iron. Poured crystal clear with a pale but very vibrant garnet. Opened up with air beutiful dried red fruit and herbal perfume carried by that savory earthy undertone. We should all be so lucky to age as gracefully as this did — 9 years ago
