Dr Latour is wrapping up 2017 in proper fashion. 59. Dark core with only a hint of bricking. These are almost indestructible when kept properly. Drank like a younger wine. 3hrs open and was very showy and sweet. “Sexy” as some might call it is dead on. Blackberry kirsch, some cedar and a little black olive all wrapped in this velvet almost liqueur like package. Happy New Year to all my WNH/Delectable friends and family. Love JL. — 7 years ago
2002. Yummy. Lives up to its name. — 9 years ago
Drank the 09half bottle at the old Ebbitt bar with a house made walnut and cream ravioli . The dryness and mineral potency of the medoc alongside the pre pope visit crowd, under boars heads and dead turtle carcasses in lamppost light at 11 pm is like feeling the serpent coil up your leg whispering the unknown secret while your mouth chews the red fruit of old lands greedily without a care except that you should post your thoughts on delectable. — 10 years ago
Big and rich Chardonnay still oak notes after 11 years. Hazelnut and caramel corn. Still has minerality present few years of life left (like my cat except more teeth). Granted I could come home any day now to find wine or cat dead but the future looks bright for both. — 10 years ago
Soft earth, super drinkable. — 10 years ago
Starts off weird and almost effervescent...ends in dark over ripe cherries and lushness that is awesome. — 10 years ago
Needed some Barolo in my life!!! This little Rock and Roll Nurse felt like a much needed transfusion. Less Orange-hued than most. Highly affordable. Just a baby, like we Vampires like 'em! Happy to sink my fangs in this one. Chalky Cherries with chunks of plum. Rose snippets. Orange bitters diluted in Armagnac. This has all the mixological possibilities of a great cocktail, only it is propped on a cloud of acidity that screams like a juvenile Jove for a plate of fine food before blasting your mouth with a a lightning bolt of chewy round tannins, then descending like a shower of golden daffodils to sex you up! Ahh Spring!

Big Top Tues Dash w/Rebate....super deal of $5.99. Deep Dark Cherry w/low tannin ending. — 6 years ago
Still opening...
Red to orange to yellow to clear lip. Unfined with sediment mixed in (clearly I disturbed her). Some initial strawberry on the nose, then anise, and mild petroleum. Strong green olives on the palate, any taster would immediately identify this note. Going to hold for a bit before pronouncing judgement...
1 hour in.... Olives have bent towards muddled mushrooms. Better...
So I certainly respect this wine, but there really isn't a lot to hang my hat on. The fruit is pretty much dead. The olives wouldn't relent overall. It remains savory. So this could possibly pair with a soft mild cheese (brie), or on the other side of dinner with something not too sweet (cheesecake), but I'm stretching. I guess , in
my opinion I would surmise that it is past peak.

The wine that gets better every vintage. Confections abound when popped and poured and then it settles into its floral/nutty/honey aromas beautifully. All of this framed by a slab of limestone. Also a verbena/green tea aroma adds complexity. Unbelievable texture. So silky and soft yet buffered by a taut spine of acidity that is so well integrated it only reveals itself on the finish. Great concentration Long finish with honey, tangerines and minerals. What finesse and sophistication here. Drop dead. — 9 years ago

2012 vintage - very deep, dark Cab. Brambly dark fruit aromas. Palate is huge, yet not over the top. Dark berries, stewed plums, licorice and tobacco notes. Very good. — 10 years ago
Best of the lot so far 15 min in 92 pts might be better in 30 or dead — 10 years ago
Very fruit forward and you can tell it's a young wine. With that said it is well balanced and an excellent wine to drink now or law it down for several years. — 12 years ago
The 2016 Long Shadows 'Saggi' is a thrilling blend of Sangiovese (Boushey and Candy Mountain Vineyards) with 29% Cabernet Sauvignon (Weinbau Vineyard) and the remainder Syrah (Den Hoed Dutchman and Bacchus Vineyards). The nose is drop-dead gorgeous with bacon fat, black olive tapenade, mocha and fennel. The stunning range of aromas bring you back to the glass for more. Revealing a silky texture and a wonderfully ripe mouthfeel, this slowly unveils smoked meat, black tea, milk chocolate covered cherry and roasted fig flavors. Decadent, layered and downright delicious, this beautiful wine will enjoy an exceedingly long life in the cellar. Drink 20-9-2033- 95 — 6 years ago
Such a cool wine to try. Lots of bret on the nose that is a love hate relationship. Unfortunately I’m more on the hate side but still slightly enjoyable and showing some fruit. Not completely dead. — 7 years ago
The 2012 is Zin-like! Fruit & spice and everything nice. Fruit up front, with a lingering peppery finish. This red blend remains a great daily driver. Be careful, the 14.5% will 'steal your face' if you don't check yourself! — 10 years ago
