Very good day 2 — 8 years ago
Bold citrus notes, good mix of bubbly and smooth. Parmesan, iron, sawdust, almond. Tart and good to drink. Enough tanins to not be too sweet and dry. Pleasant on the mouth for a beachy, summer's day. — 9 years ago
perfect every day gamay. — 9 years ago
What a nose! Fruit but strongly tinged with spice and hints of cigar? Medium body with fruit and acid but latter lingers into finish which RC says should note be for Napa cab and sign of post prime by 5+ years. But still great to drink. Next day under agon the nose lost that spicy note but the palette holding very nicely. More rounded today. — 10 years ago
Top wine - nose - fruit - taste. Just a perfect day! — 11 years ago
Strong grapefruit. Refreshing. Great for a hot day. — 11 years ago
My first taste I really did not care for this wine. But I love Belle Glos so I gave this another try. Used an aerator and let it open up. Night and day! Very full. Great fruit. Glad I gave it another try. Decant this wine for at least 15 minutes and it's fantastic. — 11 years ago

Notes of peach and bruised apples. Great skin contact wine😊 — 6 years ago
This was the last bottle from a case I bought in about 1997. Over the 29 years since the wine was made, the noteworthy tar and tobacco notes that Pontet Canet is known for softened to an ashy-ness that is a softer version of a Mouton Rothschild. Still plenty of life left in this outstanding vintage, but the wine won't improve much (if at all) from this point. I enjoyed this bottle with Lucas Comfort, a day after his 29th birthday (1990). — 7 years ago
Global Champagne Day 2018...Why not?
@Casey @ Travelling Corkscrew I'm not going to sabre this one, maybe another time. Nice post/feature today.
Seemed excessively frizzante when we opened the bottle, more mellow after an hour, quite nice. Lightly brioche, the Chardonnay is more prominent tonight. Light caramel on under-ripe peach, delish. At hour two, lightly saline, red fruit arrives, the terroir is making an appearance. — 8 years ago

Christmas Day 3 Litre 12 years old and a lot left — 9 years ago
This wine needed about 3 hours to release. Initially tight with uncomfortable medicinal nose which then totally dissipated. Drinking now next day and you get the age of fully integrated but not fading tannins. Nose has a delightful dark fruit and smokiness. Great fit of nose and taste, meaning - when tastes after smelling the experience is consistent and not jolting. I think the color purple in a subdued way. Very nice. Memo to self: decant and watch for sediment, and enjoy three hours later. — 9 years ago

Wonderful new years day spent with Janice and Ronnie and the rest of the Memphis Mafia. What generous friends and amazing wines! — 12 years ago
Third time I’ve had this, each time I’m almost staggered by the nose. Floral and light red and blue fruits pour out of the glass. This is an old world nod being a 85/15 blend of Syrah and Viognier, and although it hints towards brooding it remains delicate and vibrant on the palate. Really pretty wine. Everything from Day I have had has been great. — 7 years ago
Showing some age, which is the highest compliment. Dried apricot, dried apple, day-old dried-out honey, buttered crouton, funky yeast, subtle acidity. Slightest white pepper. Complex beyond words. Domestic sparkling for the ages. — 8 years ago
