The nose reveals; pink grapefruit, tangerine, strawberries, watermelon near the rind, hints of rhubarb, blood orange, sea spray, mild volcanic minerals, chalk, light fruit roll-ups, fruit blossoms and pink roses.
The body is thick, gluey and shows some frizzante. It’s fresh, lively and easy to drink. Especially, outstanding on a warm day. Candied fruit of; pink grapefruit, tangerine, strawberries, watermelon near the rind, hints of rhubarb & blood orange. Some white spice with a shade of heat, a herbal presence, sea spray, mild volcanic minerals, chalk, light fruit roll-ups, fruit blossoms and pink roses. The acidy is bright and near perfect. The finish is; rich, ripe, lush, balanced fruit & earth and is delicious.

Tar, almond and roses on the nose. Quite light body, but good length and grippy tannins. Much more expressive on the third day after opening. — 7 years ago
When you have to travel on a Sunday, and that Sunday happens to be Mother's Day, you're not exactly psyched. This little oasis in the Delta Sky Club afforded me the opportunity to smile. Not a bad pour, regardless of the price. Typical Lynch-Bages cigar tobacco and leather with some luscious and velvety black fruit. Finished a little flat, most likely due to being open for a while in the fancy automated pour gizmo. But still smiling! — 7 years ago
Never too early in the day — 7 years ago
Prefer to three valleys. Ageable and affordable. Can taste the new oak in the mid-palate along with dusty fruit and strong, brooding tannins. Tastes throughout the day and was never the same incarnation. Quite the experience.... putting some away for a rainy day. — 8 years ago

At Alison Spa - Beautiful Stormy Day! Amazing Wine — 9 years ago
Krug is always most welcome, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This is edition 169. A bit more yeasty and slightly less acidic than previous versions, to my taste. But if you like the Krug style - which we do very much - it hits the spot per usual.
My wife used to work with Fritz Hatton, proprietor of Arietta wines and auctioneer for Zachys. Fritz always says to have a half bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge in case you need a “midnight snack”, and I have to agree with him! — 3 years ago
Lovely Gamay on a sunny day, great stuff, has it all, ready to quaff😍 — 6 years ago
When it comes to my B-day, there is only one fit, an old Pichon Lalande with my Ribeye. As a lover of Bordeaux, these two are my favorite pairing. It’s a very slow walk to the finishline. A small bite of steak and a sip of 89 Pichon Lalande. Then, repeat until finished. I had some concerns about this bottle. A slightly slippery and crumbling cork. The first sip was not bad, but not what you want or are expecting. After some time in the decanter, it really started to shine. On the nose; ripe, ruby, floral cassis, blackberries, dark sweet & sour cherries, baked strawberries, blue fruit hues, dry cranberries, baked rhubarb, saddlewood, soft, used leather, bay leaf, touch of sage, hint of spearmint, eucalyptus, vanilla, cinnamon, crushed dry crushed rock powder, black turned earth, dry brown soil with clay, tobacco leaf and perfumed red florals with violets. The body is full, round and silky. Tannins are well resolved at around 80%. The texture, length, tension and length are in a sweet spot. The fruits are ripe, ruby & expressively floral. Blackberries, dark sweet & sour cherries, baked strawberries, blue fruit hues, dry cranberries, baked rhubarb, saddlewood, soft, used leather, bay leaf, touch of sage, hint of spearmint, eucalyptus, vanilla, cinnamon, crushed dry crushed rock powder, black turned earth, dry brown soil with clay, scorched earth, tobacco leaf and perfumed red florals with violets. The acidity is just a little off but still nice. The finish is divided nearly equally in fruit, earth, florals and herbaceous. It’s very enjoyable but falls just a little short in longer, lingering length. This bottle had good storage, not great. Even so, still has another three to five years ahead. A bottle with excellent storage has another five years beyond this one. Christmas Day 3 Litre 12 years old and a lot left — 7 years ago
This wine needed about 3 hours to release. Initially tight with uncomfortable medicinal nose which then totally dissipated. Drinking now next day and you get the age of fully integrated but not fading tannins. Nose has a delightful dark fruit and smokiness. Great fit of nose and taste, meaning - when tastes after smelling the experience is consistent and not jolting. I think the color purple in a subdued way. Very nice. Memo to self: decant and watch for sediment, and enjoy three hours later. — 7 years ago
What a nose! Fruit but strongly tinged with spice and hints of cigar? Medium body with fruit and acid but latter lingers into finish which RC says should note be for Napa cab and sign of post prime by 5+ years. But still great to drink. Next day under agon the nose lost that spicy note but the palette holding very nicely. More rounded today. — 8 years ago
Given the price this wasn't bad. Not terribly well integrated, but still seems like it could age a bit. Will see how it is on day 2. — 8 years ago
Part 2 of a Mother's Day trio of delicious reds. Smooth, full and delicious with a near perfect blend of vanilla and spice. — 9 years ago
Gamay all day, every day! With some aging on it. Good to drink, still good to keep. — 10 years ago
Love this white. Hot day. Chiĺled glass. Serve icy cold. Bought in USA. Sipped at Cliff Beach Club. Cant find it in a shop here though. — 5 years ago
Pretty deep garnet core , showing a little age as expected , the rim is quite thin and with a light garnet hue. Impressive aromatic nose straight from opening , leather , grafite , creme de cassis, truffle. Very masculine and aristocratic! Still holding a lot back and developing in the glass. In the mouth , quite dry and grippy tannins , the fruit is sweeter , very long on the palate nicely balanced acidity . Blackcurrant , coffee , mineral , creme de cassis . A very big wine , drinkable now though will no doubt improve over many years . Barely changed a day later after a night in the vacuvin . More spicy tobacco and soy showing , still marvelous length, showing there is still so much to give. — 5 years ago
Day 3: nose of plum, dark berry fruit, black pepper, baking spice, tobacco, and roasted red pepper. Firm on the palate. Forest berries are wrapped with spice that confirms the oak treatment. Finish lingers with a mild kick of heat which may soften over time. Decant or hold for 5+ years. — 6 years ago

Solid blend. Not worth the price. Crushing it on Valentine's Day with some Dominos. Bam! — 7 years ago
What a wonderful wild berry, spice and wild fresh flowers on the nose. Ripe dark cassis, dry cranberries, ripe rhubarb, dry cranberries, cooked strawberries, dusty brown earth, crushed volcanic minerals, cedar, leather, tobacco, spice-box, dry floral bouquet and lean fresh fruit to dry long finish. Consistent throughout. Out of 3L. Wine of the day there. — 8 years ago
