Von’s. $9. Great stand alone — 8 years ago
Fruity, smooth, pepper finish. Still opening up. — 9 years ago
Definitely needs to open up. Was sweet on the first sip. Significant fruit tones at the outset and got dry as it opened. I would give it a good half hour and drink and enjoy. Solid choice. — 10 years ago
The most elegant tasting so far — 11 years ago
2006. 8yr old Zin from Lodi. This used to be a bruiser of a wine. Now it's quite balanced, nuanced, and at the end of its life. Very vegetal with green bean and English pea aromas, balsam, and tasting of an amalgam of stewed raisined cherry, black currant , oak, mushroom, and white pepper. 16.5%abv. — 12 years ago
BIG WINE!!! Dark purple color. Intense aromas of cooked dark plums and black currant compote. Hints of tobacco and earth. Pallet is loaded with blackberry jam with hints of grilled herbs and toast. Nice vanilla note on the long finish. Rich and voluptuous. — 4 years ago
This is LV14. No dosage. A year and a half since my last btl, roughly. On the nose: melon, with creme fraiche, basil, meyer lemon, meyer lemon zest. Not sure I would believe BdB blind. Color suggests skin contact...almost soft peach. On the palate: aggressive mousse at first...maybe needed a decant. Lovely acidity, lime, bitter citrus, a touch short, and very juicy on the dense and tangy finish. A stunner. — 5 years ago
Dark and fruity from my favourite region. We don’t get many varieties from MD Winery in Canada and this one tops what we get. Fruit forward and a solid finish. Will be adding a case or two to my cellar. Yup. It has legs and it worth the buy. — 5 years ago
Had at Jeanne’s 2018 party. John brought. — 7 years ago
Dark fruits, intense colour, great legs. A real bargain. — 8 years ago
Dark ruby in color with a purple rim.
Very strong fruity nose with black currants, blackberries, figs, raisins, vanilla, sweet raspberries, smoke, chocolates, mocha, earth, wood, licorice, vinegrete and black pepper.
Full bodied, jammy and rich, with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, strawberries, ripe cranberries, earth, vanilla, licorice, oak, peppercorn and spices.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
A great blend from the house of Michael David. Soft and well balanced, with nice complexity, and a tangy mouth watering finish. Enjoyable by itself, good right out of the bottle, and a little better after an hour.
This 4 year old is drinking very nicely now and will be good in the next few years. I kept it for a couple of years in my cellar, to see if there are any changes, but I don't see a reason for that. Great vintage as it is.
A good sipping wine that will also work well with grilled meats.
A blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre and Grenache.
14.5% alcohol by volume. — 9 years ago
I love Sauvignon Blanc...compared to New Zealand style this wine is closer to a medium body. Crisp ...wonderful with veggies & guacamole..short on the finish...lemon...perfectly summer sipper! — 10 years ago
Stinky, reductive, needs lots of air & time to breath. Funky cab franc which many won't like. — 11 years ago
Light and dry but funky, almost yeasty tannins mixed with berries. Distinct old vine Chilean varietals that I would like to see more of. — 4 years ago
Beautiful Zin all around. I find it a bit earthy but absolutely stunning. Wow, when I think “Zin” this is the taste, and I got it on sale for only $35! It’s pairing perfectly with my spicy Chinese food dinner. I’m imagining about 10 other dishes this will pair wonderfully with as well. — 5 years ago
An old standard in our household. Velvety smooth, rich juicy berries. Glad we can purchase Freakshow even at Costco in TX and have a solid, boozy Cab at the ready. — 5 years ago

Loves this wine chilled it so very smooth — 7 years ago
Looooooved this. So bouncy and so pine-y! I drank it cold, like past the point of chilled, because no wine fridge or central air, and I thought it was perfect that way? — 8 years ago
The 2014 Sonoma County Pinot Noir had bright ruby and complex red berry fruit aromas with sweet earthy spice. The palate shows cherry, tart raspberry and strawberry flavors with citrus notes, pepper and nuttiness. The finish develops some toasty oak notes, minerality with firm tannins, well balanced coming together. Consistent quality year after year! A good value Pinot as retail is around $30, rivals some $50 bottles. — 9 years ago
Animal, wild, floral, forest fruits, ripe and juicy and incredibly well balanced. 👏🏻🐾🌲🐗🍓 — 10 years ago
