Opaque Darkness Paso Robles Zinfandel Blend 2013

Stewed fruit and plum nose with an earthy vegetal undertone. Smooth to drink and feels rich and warming, slight tannins but soften quickly, not too sweet. Great wine. — 9 years ago

If A Tree Falls Yakima Valley Riesling

By far the ripest Viognier I've had in the Okanagan. Pure peaches and honey. — 11 years ago

Soter Vineyards

Mineral Springs Ranch Pinot Noir 2012

Lovely nose of cherry, strawberry and a hint of rose petals. Well structured red and black fruit with a cola backbone on the palate. Moderate plus and consistent acid from start to long finish. This is a big but disciplined Pinot that falls somewhere between a California and Burgundy style. — 8 years ago

9.1

Magnum. Initially a 93 rating and then falls apart after 1.5 hours and becomes an 89. Lovely, classic , delicate, herbal Bordeaux. Rich and balanced initially and then declines rapidly. Very sad. — 9 years ago

Aubert

UV-SL Vineyard Chardonnay 2012

Bottle given to us by a friend, decided to drink on wife's birthday. There is a lot of oak at play, loads of crisp apple and a nice lemon tartness this has time on its side, especially if the oak falls in line. — 9 years ago

Barbaresco Nebbiolo

8.9

2008. Dried cherry, black tea, dried mushroom and rose, prosciutto. Minerality is reminiscent of standing on a dry, dusty dirt road. Only criticism is that it falls off in the mid palate, but finishes with a nice gamey note. — 11 years ago
