Tasted at the producer, this is a primeur / pleasure to drink young vintage. 100% Cabernet-Franc. Light purple color, clear and limpid. Raspberry and herbaceous nose. Supple mouth blending raspberry, notes of cedar, cypress.
Slightly acidity, but the typical Touraine mineral structure, reminiscent of slate, pencil lead, or charcoal, bringing a refreshing salivating tension. On salads, aperitif-dinners, cold meats, cheese pastas, it's easy to drink, and pleasant.
— 5 years ago

Heck of a 3rd Friday to kick off the holidays!
This was my first time with this producer. All the typical Sauternes notes of honeyed fruits, marmalade, toasted cashews...the sweetness wasn’t as precise as Rieussec, Climens or Guiraid up front, but it had the aromatics and front, mid palate in spades. Drinking well now but clearly no rush. — 7 years ago

I mean, the label alone makes it a 10. A CAT BAGUETTE AND WINE?!! • SIGHT: golden with a slight peach tinge. Teeny tiny sediment. SMELL: flowers, chlorine, vegetable - asparagus maybe? Acetone? TASTE: “oh hot damn” it tastes like a baguette. Toasted yeasty freshness, like freshly baked bread (baguette!); almond paste/marzipan. Love it so muuuuch more please! — 5 years ago

Drank 4/26/18 at a tasting event.
2nd wine of Climens. Nose of pineapple and honeyed apricots, with some slight volatility that blows off after a few minutes. Flavors of pineapple and some light honey, without the depth or richness of the Climens. Decent wine, but would vastly prefer the Doisy Vedrines for around the same price.

Toile de Fond 2020 by Fond Cyprès - an exclusive bottling for Culinaries, a bottle shop in Lyon. A mish mash of mostly Carignan (80%, whereby a large portion comes from 60-year old vines that typically goes into their Carignan de la Source cuvee), Syrah, and Grenache. No notes jotted down nor photos taken (grabbed this off the web), which tends to happen with last ditch pulls on a mid-week night. I do remember this to be pretty easy-going, a little funky, with cherries and strawberries, and a nice zing. Tasty nightcap. — 4 years ago
