2014 Fleurie Grand Pre 1.5ml bottle
Aromas of orange starburst, grape bubble gum and violets. Tastes of sweet black fruits and old vine sap. Amazing texture. 2014 vintage Beaujolais was like a dream throughout the region. The wines are perfectly ripened with nice acidity. I like the clean, pure, juicy style of this cuvée. Very dark purple color. What a tremendous value and fun wine to drink from magnum. This is a great wine to pair with many different types of food or soft creamy cheese. 6/28/20 — 6 years ago
Pale to mid crimson and a little cloudy - a characteristic one used to see occasionally in Bass Phillip as they are bottled unfiltered which adds to the flavour intensity. A beautiful perfume of whole bunch notes, sous bois and a touch of toffee. Amazing intensity for Bass Phillip’s 5th ranked Pinot Noir cuvée. Sweet and savoury fruits. Delivers more fruit on the palate than one would expect from the nose. For short term drinking but still delivers the Bass Phillip stamp of quality. — 6 years ago

And on the 3rd day it showed the best — 11 years ago
Very nice. Olive, mint, sous bois on the nose gives way to black cherry. A little Mourvèdre funk. Tart acidity and some dry tannins but everything is in balance. Better-crafted than other Cairannes that I've had. Not much meat, but you might start confusing this with a N. Rhone, as it feels cool. — 12 years ago

Always a pleasure to taste the wines of JP Brun. This purple-colored Moulin-à-Vent delivers magnificent airy notes of undergrowth, ash, accompanied by a floral burst of dry roses / peonies; Morello cherry, blackberries. The mouth is very fine. silky tannins testify to a great mastery of winemaking. 2017 vintage begins to « pinote » wonderfully and will win again with a few years in the cellar (for those who enjoy Burdundy style). Reference!
— 6 years ago
Tour d’Argent. Tawny, heavy color in the glass. The Somm smiles. I smile. The room smiles. This is killer juice that opens with a fragrant bouquet of ripe bing cherries, earthly spice, some sois bois, and some Asian spice. I’ve had this wine probably 10+ times and this is easily the best of them. Silky smooth. The nose is sexual. Killer juice. Worth the price. — 7 years ago

Bim! Quelle richesse! Au départ, nez puissant en réglisse. Puis à l'aération, ça change, va vers le cuir, l'animal... De l'évolution, du sous bois. Nez excitant — 8 years ago
Faint mushroom and sous bois, nice underripe dark fruits, lightly spicy tartness on the finish. — 11 years ago
A recco from the local liquor store. Beautiful eggplant purple, and jammy as Hell. Smoky, peppery and loads of black fruit. Must. Get. More. — 11 years ago
Super-vitaminized syrah in the Moroccan sun (drunk on the spot!). Cuvée admirably conducted by Alain Graillot renowned for his Croze-Hermitage: charming nose of ripe red and black fruits, and an explosive bouquet of dried flowers. Wonderful vinification with well-integrated fruit / wood tannins; a supple and velvety palate. Otherwise, it is still very alcoholic. This prominence can be attenuated per hour of ventilation and refreshed to 13-15 degrees. 14-18 € ok, but not more!
— 6 years ago
Always been a go-to producer for me in terms of price, drinkability, and sense of place. This had all the MSD character I look for in village wines with generous fruit and weight to make it a no fuss experience. Some reduction and brett dominated but blew off quickly letting its leathery and brambly, sous bois fruity character shine through. One foot in rustic, one foot in conventional, this had a well rounded mix of what I like when I reach for this village. — 7 years ago
Very nice Pinot Noir. Delightful. — 8 years ago
J'ai adoré ses notes de vin mûr, de miel, de noisettes, de bois et de sous bois. La bulle est d'une absolue finesse — 9 years ago

Always a treat to try a Bell Hill Pinot Noir. Quite light in colour. Wonderful florals of violet, roses and a stalky whole bunch note - a nose reminiscent of Vosne Romanee. A light to medium weight palate showing more body than the colour would indicate. Strong Sous Bois character with red fruits and great persistence. I have very few wines from Canterbury NZ but on this showing, should have more. This is Bell Hill’s 2nd ranked Cuvée. I have a few bottles of their 1st ranked Cuvée but they need more cellar time before popping the cork, as does this Old Weka Pass 2016. A great Pinot with further potential. — 6 years ago
