Just gorgeous, so Bordeaux like it's crazy. Big beautiful earthy tones backed up by fruit. Love this wine... — 9 years ago
100% Grenache Blanc per the back label. There's some lightness and lift here. Clean and pure. Distinctive nose. Minerals, White flowers. Sweet fruit not overdone at all. Little spice and structure starts to reveal itself after some air. Nice wine. — 10 years ago
Body is fairly light for a PA. Nicely bitter hop note on a mouthwatering finish. Well made and not at all heavy-handed. Good summertime pale ale. — 10 years ago
Big bold and beautiful. The bouquet flies out of the glass. My little brother introduced to Gamba and loved it since. The 2011 Starr Road brings everything black in fruit. Black cherry, blackberry, black raspberry and even a little bit of black currant. Mellow tannins give a lasting finish that slides down like liquid silk. — 11 years ago

My favorite from Judy. Love it. — 9 years ago
Good wine in a great place right now! Great density. Tasted the 10, 11, and the 12 with Ms Cakebread in our recent trip. I think she was surprised we didn't like the 12. Parker gave this one a 93, which I shockingly agree with. I think this wine has incredible depth and density, but it was ready to go at pop and pour without any decanting needed. I don't think this is too age worthy, which is shocking given its AVA. FWIW, it seems Crocker&Starr and Paradigm Francs are just better "built." Still this is a indisputably good wine with great acidity, fruit core, tannin, and finish. More on Cellartracker. — 9 years ago
Went back to another bottle. This one was much better. — 9 years ago

#awesomecabernet looking forward to visiting C & S next week! — 8 years ago
Popped it with a burger at lunch. Before wine opening up had nose of red fruits and slight smell of green pepper. Bright and tasty. Came back to it 5 hours later for a steak dinner. Became a little more black fruit with slight graphite and dust. Got better with a little air. — 9 years ago
Catalonia Spain
Surdyk's Staff Selection (Noelle Starr): The non-vintage Brut Reserve, made from indigenous Spanish grapes, undergoes second fermentation in the bottle, is aged for 15 months, and is a fantastic value – even at full price. Aromatic and elegant, there are notes of citrus, Asian pear, hints of flower and a touch of biscuit. The finish is dry and refreshing. Thoughts: start by using a regular wine glas, as a bigger bowl helps bring the aromatics front and center. Pair with anything salty (potato chips), creamy (brie smeared on a fresh baguette), or crunchy (fried chicken is especially good.) Pairs wonderfully with Blue Earth, a delicious brie-style cheese from Mankato, MN

The 2011 is drinking funky right now. Funky in a good way. Color is a dark purple but the flavor is red fruits. Lots of fun acidity, not a lot of tannins. — 7 years ago
