Creature comfort. — 10 years ago
Looking for a classic white burgundy made with restraint? This one is for you. Bright acidity, honeysuckle, pollen, bit of oaky vanilla. All the good Chardonnay comforts are here. — 10 years ago
Different creature than normal sauv blanc. Little funk, deeper fuller bodied. Minerality, mild lemon. — 11 years ago
I think some might have issue with German Pinot noir but they are great. Distinct. This was super pungent on the nose but if you give it time it blows off and becomes a lovely creature with delicate but smokey notes, persistent acidity and sweet fruit. I haven't had a lot of German Pinot noir but they usually lean to the lighter side and this one leaves a belly warming pleasing feeling that shows it's not a weak creature. — 11 years ago
Another creature. An oeil-de-perdrix of pinot noir, with a touch of chasselas and MT. My favorite wine of theirs to date. Richer and with more precision than any of their other whites -- bouquet of lilies, white tea, strawberries, and almond, backed by a gruner like pepperiness. Amazing. — 11 years ago

Suspiro Del Moro alvarelhao from Alta Mesa, the definition of a rare creature.
The nose. By God the nose is heavenly. Floral, perfumey, candied red berries and red plums and sweet spices to this, cinnamon and nutmeg and a touch of pyrazines. On first sniff the nose reminds me of some California pinots I've had, but the palate doesn't match up totally. It's thin but structured, acidic but with tannin. It's a really interesting take on a Portuguese varietal that I'm glad to have found. — 11 years ago
A deep, dark, murky, inky creature of a wine. Expresses powerful blackberry and blueberry fruit laced with ample nutmeg and pepper notes. Drinks full blooded and thick bringing out the carnivore in all of us.
Cheers! — 11 years ago
Plucky raspberry, cherry and roses race to earthy notes that wash into a clean oceanic blast. Served too cold, but opening nicely. Cherry goodness throughout, almost chalky. Doubt that is a Langhe soil type, but coming through in the mix. Tight and cran in the swirl, but that is symptomatic of the Nebbiolo. Odd, interesting creature. Real shadows of burgundy, in an unpredictable dichotomy of grapes. #Langhe #Nebbiolo #DomenicoClerico — 11 years ago
What amazing wine , Thanks Chiappini for This delicius creature :) — 12 years ago
Initial pepper spice, dark berry fruit, lavender and violet nose. Bright, light entry. Good acid. Long subtle finish. Eaten with petit sirloin roasted baby potatoes and asparagus in the comforts of our napa cabin :) wonderful. — 13 years ago
2010. Strict lemony acid, fresh stony bite with the tiniest hint of honey and green banana. Lovely wine which comforts me in my affection for Mikulski's higher end whites, and I'll age my last bottle a couple more years to see if it adds a honeyed heft of the midpalate... but no regrets today. — 10 years ago
Hallelujah! This thing has suprising lasted despite my lack of patience. Fnally broke down, curious how time has changed this magical creature. Where it once was as jammy as marionberry preserves it's now smoky. Where it once was inky as all imagination it is now bone dry and tannic. Still it's neat to see this cool climate Syrah grow into something more akin to a Walla Walla valley. Will grab your palate so accompany with fatty foods. — 10 years ago
As a long summer unfolds, I am looking anything other than a highly acidic, crisp white... Moving towards this lovely creature- a brazenly rich grape, given a healthy spine, electric tones , and a vibrant finish. This wine could easily rock me through early autumn. — 11 years ago
Huge wine with immense structure, broad shoulders and nicely tuned acidity. Cocky tannins and packed with sweet dark berries, spicy minerality and hints of pan-fried herbs, this large-scaled creature is impressive on so many levels, but for me personally, a touch too big. — 11 years ago
For my wife, ordinarily not a fan of sancerres or savignon blanc. This a different creature. — 11 years ago
This gorgeous wine, an heirloom very rare creature, delivers almonds & mind-blowing richness w a desert vegetal spike of prickly pear. So awesome, I'd drink it over Montrachet... — 12 years ago
I think it is an elegant creature, m+ acidity , very round, fine tannin, concentrate,a great producer — 12 years ago
Peter Sultan
So big and bright this vintage, so was a little tentative in drinking. Fear not, great producer puts out a still balanced, more black fruited than sweet cherry bold creature. Perhaps the black currant thing is what grabs me. Yum.-had w Thanksgiving — 10 years ago
