Great and simple. Tropical fruit like pineapple, with a nice phenolic finish. I like it. — 7 years ago
Reminds me of a 2009 1er Cru Chablis. — 7 years ago
Quite impressive color still, youthful dark fruits w/Cordier merde in abundance, structured but w/medium, non-astringent tannins, medium-long finish, I don't mind some Brett so I like this one a lot, if your Brett tolerance is low, YMMV!! — 8 years ago
100 year anniversary ... not of the winery, but of the acquisition of the winery by the Cordier family--France is unreal! Deeply extracted, royal purple, opaque, medium plus to full bodied. Red cherry dominated on open but after an hour blackberry has taken over. Spices and a hint of vanilla in the background. Medium plus alcohol 14.5. Medium acidity. Tannins are still biting a bit. Super long length. I would recommend holding this at least another 2-3 years. The tannins will soften, and I suspect we will enjoy some tertiary flavors from the spiced vanilla that remains.

Savoury yet rich. Mineral yet fruity. Superb. — 9 years ago
2018 vintage. Estate owned by the Bignon Cordier family (Talbot). Cabernet Sauvignon (59%), Merlot (29%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Petit Verdot. First vintage under the management of Jean-Michel Laporte and a very solid effort. Cassis and fine cedar wood. Very approachable fresh, fruitdriven Haut-Medoc with impeccable balance and good length. Terrific value at 15 euros.Highly recommended. Abv. 14%. — 3 years ago
I can’t overstate my love for the Cordier stable in the 1980s and this reinforces that passion. From a 375 ml bottle in a Gabriel Glas Gold, savory leather and a streak of mint play off brooding dark currant to deliver fine depth. It initially seemed a little dilute, but 30 minutes of air brought out the fine tannin and acidic structure it needed to frame the flavors. While fine on its own, it really took off when paired with a prime ribeye. A terrific final red for this challenging year. — 4 years ago
Excellent wine. Perfect for summer drinking on its own or with light food. — 7 years ago
Very good for a standard Bourgogne. Certainly close to Saint Veran and Pouiily Fuissé. White fruit all around plus full bodied. — 7 years ago

1983 vintage. Connétable de Talbot, second wine of Château Talbot. A testimony to how well even these second wines can age. Cedar wood, flowers, leather. Medium-bodied, fresh acidity, dried plums, spices, slightly rustic tannin, good length. — 2 years ago
