Strawberry shortcake with enough tannins to cut the sweetness. More cake than strawberry. Minerals. Cantaloupe. Really cool, really good — 10 years ago
Fuck. Cool. — 10 years ago
Tropical nose, very buttery, hints of melon & pineapple. Super cool that it's stored in cement barrels & the bottle is made out of ceramic! — 11 years ago

Beautifully crafted wine. Singing now with ripe cool climate opulence and savoury restraint. — 11 years ago
Serve cool NOT cold to make the acid POP.
My guys say.... Lighter bodied dry white. Drinks reminiscent of a fine) fino sherry with a light briney nutty flavor (salted nutz? :) and a squeeze of lemon. Roasted fish, octopus, saganaki. — 12 years ago
Light, bright yellow color. Nose has nuts, white pepper & soft tropical notes with a brush of clay. Crisp, mineral stone fruit & slight tropical character. What's amazing about this wine is it gathers the finest aspects of cool climate regions, while maintaining the expansive fruit character of warmer climate wines. Perfectly done. — 12 years ago
Smooth, excellent syrah — 14 years ago
Grenache Gris, Blanc, Maccabée et Vermentino! Richesse et fraîcheur bien intégrée. — 8 years ago

Pretty medium garnet color, vibrant acidity and bright fresh berry character. No jamminess or white pepper here, just delicious fruit and 12.5% abv. Seductive in its appeal. Well judged oak that never intrudes on the fruit. Dekicious and a benchmark in cool climate shiraz — 10 years ago
Mature cool climate Chardonnay. Penfolds Whites are starting to gain the reputation of their illustrious Red offering. After 6 years funk is replacing the Flint of a few years ago. Nice stone fruit notes and long. Enjoyable. — 10 years ago
So surprising for a hot climate wine! No lack of acidity here! Rich texture, fascinating. Some of the oldest genetic material vilified! Own rootstock, look up a picture of the trellising. Not much else like this! — 11 years ago
Smashed smarties with a touch of jalapeño. So cool. — 12 years ago
Fruity light — 12 years ago
Light, fruity, slightly sweet, Australian Pinot Grigio. — 13 years ago
Well made. My first venture into Tasmania wine. It was fleshier than I was expecting from a cool climate. Kind of peachy with some baking spices. Tried it over two days. — 9 years ago
Really cool bubbles from Sicily. I dig. — 9 years ago
Super funky oxidative white with diverse aromas and favors. Reminds me of Jura Blanc. Not for everyone but very cool — 10 years ago
Crisp cool flavor with pear flavor towards finishing! — 11 years ago
Love all Duplin! My favorite wine — 11 years ago

Bob McDonald

You know when you go on holidays and think you have brought enough wine from your cellar and you end up running out. This is what happened to us on the Gold Coast and we ended up buying 2 bottles of this excellent Shiraz to top up. From the very good 2015 vintage. Being a Shiraz from Coonawarra one expects more cool climate characteristics of Pepper Spice and dried meats but this has fuller Berry flavours with supple yet unyielding tannins. Drinking any Penfolds Bin No Red @2 years of age is probably committing infanticide but no more so than this beautiful 2015. Buy some and don’t touch it for 15 years at least! When I get home I will be buying a half dozen. — 8 years ago
