Made from the other White Burgundy grape, Aligote. Made by probably the most famous name in Burgundy, Aubert de Villaine and his American born wife, Pamela. Aubert is the wine director and proprietor of the Domaine de la Romanee Conti. This is his own personal project. The wine itself:- Mid lemon in colour. Herbs, citrus and a touch of aniseed on the nose. The palate is very citric and mineral with a noticeable saline note. More palate weight than it had a few years ago. Medium minus Acid. Drinking well now and no need to cellar any further. Great winemaking at an affordable price. — 6 years ago
This takes some time to open up. Once it does, this light-colored gives up delicate scents of cracked stones, mossy forest underbrush, and wild cherry. Lean but flavorful, with lithe flavors of crisp cherry and rock dust. Loads of acids and a bit of fine-grained tannin on the structural side. Will go nicely with the risotto I just finished and is quietly resting for a few minutes! — 8 years ago

Alto Piemonte meets Loire. Crispy and herby and fruity. — 9 years ago
Nice fruit and light, not as much tannins, smokiness too, some baking spices maybe. Cherries definitely, not as weighty in the mouth. — 10 years ago

Pale garnet, aromas of cranberry, strawberry, cough syrup, cedar, and black cherry. Dry, high acid, medium + tannins, medium + body, palate full of woodsy and red fruit notes, a little herbaceousness. Medium + finish. Delicious served slightly cold with grilled salmon. — 8 years ago
Better than the plain Sangiovese- smoother and nice finish. Hints of fruits in the nose. Pleasant with pastas. — 8 years ago
