This was the star of Thanksgiving. The barnyard nose was (strangely) inviting with hints of white pepper. But the flavor... oh the flavor, was excellent. We let this breathe for an hour and could/should have let it breathe for another hour. The flavors changed from spices and cherry to smooth cola. A very long finish of pepper, toast and liquid smoke. — 6 years ago
Normally I avoid this grape, but in that year 2010 the taste is subdued , so drinkable worked with the food at ** Michelin in Valencia Ricard Macarena🇪🇸❤️ — 7 years ago

At 1st matchstick and citrus opening into burnt orange, honey, hazelnut, butter cream, has a slightly oily texture, tangerine, lingering nose, very complex and rich. Absolutely a stunner! — 11 years ago

Always a lovely blanc de blancs. Ready to celebrate the successful completion of the 3rd WFH week and my wife’s birthday — 6 years ago
Amazing. It's fruity, but I've felt only a sweet, ripe plum. But the best is the rest: spicy aromas with leather and smoke like from smokehouse. I simply love it! — 7 years ago
Full bodied, needs lots of time but comes through In the end. Lots of dark berries, soft after a couple of hours. — 7 years ago

Got to pop some special bottles when my good friend Shawn came in to town!
I was ecstatic to open this and it ended up being one of the most spectacular champagnes I’ve had in recent memory, and possibly one of the most spectacular champagnes I’ve ever had. This single vineyard Blanc de noir from EO spent 6 years (!) on the less and was disgorged July 2018. Gorgeous golden straw color in the glass with minuscule bubbles. A totally dizzying aromatic display of ginger shavings, toffee, caramel dipped golden delicious apples, red berries, orange honey roasted cashews and some beautifully oxidized notes. Rich without being dense, a gorgeous palate profile of hazelnuts, lemon cream, brioche, chalky limestone and a finish that just doesn’t want to stop. This is a marriage of Krug & Taittinger Comtes. Stunning! — 6 years ago

Superb. Such intensity and linearity and youthfulness even at 8 years old. It’s a baby still. Gloriously balanced and drinks beautifully right now, but I can’t help but wonder what’s to come as it opens up over a decade or two. Love it! — 7 years ago
For me, the honeyed delights and floral complexities of this Alsatian wine remind me why they are among my favorites. To my palate, it borders on perfection. — 7 years ago

Reddish black cherry color. Slightly translucent. Doesn't show its age in the glass. Nose of warm fruit with kirsch, with some secondary dirt and spice notes. In the mouth there wonderful rich coating of ripe black cherry, some wood, and still active tannin. Well balanced. Lasting finish. Great showing. Still on the upswing of its potential. — 10 years ago
Outstanding. Outstanding. Outstanding. — 11 years ago
