Juicy and tannic. Tart cranberry and cherry. Medium body. A little bit of a creamy note leading into soft minerality in the finish. — 6 years ago
Beautiful nose of lemon, beeswax, and white flowers. Lovely crisp acidity, minerality and bright citrus on the Palate. Long finish with great balance and hints of lemon and pear. The wine has deceptive power — 7 years ago

Aroma and finish of a Pinot Noir. Great taste- has some berry notes- and finished moderately well. Not too long on the tongue — 8 years ago
Nice to drink now with some air.
Much fruit and spices.

Black pepper, violets, meaty, black currants, leathery and hits of mushrooms on nose and palate; medium to full body, big tannins and acidity but well balanced with a touch of aniseed on the finish — 10 years ago

Reminiscent of Normandy. Super dry. — 6 years ago
Petrol and earth, spice and earth more prominent than fruit on nose. Good tannin and high acid, would shine with fatty meat. Not at all Californian but in a good way (to me). — 6 years ago
SMOOTH. This wine is classic Oakville and I guess it should be given that it has a lot of stellar wines included in the Cuvee. This wine has been open for two hours, and needs to really open for another 2-3 hours before I think it will be firing right like it should. After de-waxing and popping the cork, this wine was showing a lot of heated black notes. A little disjointed, but really started to sing after an hour. The blackberry and licorice, black pepper and tobacco notes are very ample. Smooth transition to the middle and finish. Finishes just so damn smooth. Softened tannin, more fruit to the finish actually and just seems like a toastier note on the finish. This wine was incredible. — 7 years ago

2003 vintage. Well balanced and drinking beautifully! — 10 years ago
95% Syrah and 5% Viognier. Juicy cherries, currants then followed by olives. Initially there is a fair amount of acidity (limes) that dissipates after thirty minutes or so then revealing instead a smoky finish. — 6 years ago
Tangy, complex, and rich. Guggable. — 6 years ago
Green tinged medium lemon Yellow. Appealing nose of chalky peach, tangerine and lemon. Medium acitity developing some bitterness on the finish that limits the food pairings. Good with sushi, smoked salmon, grilled chicken - anything with a slightly saline note. — 6 years ago

The Martín Códax Winery was founded in 1986 by a group of winegrowers in Cambados, the capital of the Salnés Valle. All grapes are sourced from their own vineyards. Nice light straw yellow color with aromas of white flesh fruit and floral scents. On the palate apple, peach, pear and lemon zest, some light spice with vivid acidity. The finish displays the minerality on a lingering ending. Crisp and fresh. Very nice! Tasting Sample. — 9 years ago
