v10. Very nice wine. Soft candied cherry and smoked meat nose. Bold, rich, blackberry, plum and a hint of tar fruit. Smooth, soft, slightly tart , chocolate finish. Nicely balanced — 4 years ago
This six-grape blend is as aromatic as one might expect from Carménère, PV, Merlot, Syrah and Cabs Franc and Sauvignon. There is much dark fruit on the nose, along with cigar box, leather, cedar and licorice. The palate is bold, too, with a complex flavor profile and tannins which are useful but not overpowering. — 5 years ago
Buen sabor — 6 years ago
A welcoming nose of ripe black fruits such as cassis and plum, dark chocolate, black tea leafs, and bell pepper. The palate is warm and deep, and velvety, with a taste echoing the nose. Polished tannins and long sweet finish. The bell pepper note might be a turn off for some, but I like it a lot here.
From vines dating back to 1945 that are genetically different (hence massal selection, as opposed to a single clone). Casa Lapostolle used to buy the grapes for the Clos Apalta bottling. — 6 years ago
