Some raspberry, vanilla on the nose. Woody, peppery, earthy. Light with background red fruits, but the cassis and cranberry aren't overpowering. — 9 years ago
Apple and honey on the nose. Tasty. Crisp flavor, fruity, nice finish. — 9 years ago
Inviting and fresh flavors of cherry, white peach, lemon peel and apple with an abundance of green herbs on the finish. Well balanced with great acid and round fruit while showing some nice crispness on the finish. This is delightful and drinks well over its price point of $10.99 — 9 years ago
Makes you think with every sip. Sweet but not cloying; complex and minerally. Not getting a lot in the nose; touch of lemons. This stuff is excellent!! Thanks, Tom! Mom and Dad loved it too. Special wine. — 10 years ago

Nose: diesel, herb, perfume. Palate: pear, lime, mineral, honey, mouthwatering acidity. Crisp, floral, bright, balanced leaning toward acid. Good summer white! — 8 years ago
Really tart. Granny Smith scent but enough residual sugar to work really smooth. Crisp acidity. Clean finish. — 9 years ago
Light straw color, white flowers, more body, bitterness but nice. — 10 years ago

Regardless of vintage Willi & Christoph #Schaefer work brilliantly with whatever Mother Nature gives them and in 2013 it was very small amounts but very high quality!
The #Spätlese cleared €41 for 750ml & €132 for #magnum with the #Auslese coming in at €150 for 750ml & €78 for 375ml & €300 for 1.5L - always fair and square! #VDP #Auction — 11 years ago
So good. So damn good. So cheap. So damn cheap. Gorgeous nose of slate, lime zest, citrus pith and a foreboding sense of power. Palate is generous and elegant with so much fruit for a Spatlese Trocken yet with a firm mineral backbone and lipsmacking acidity. Terrific wine and value. Great complexity and mouthfeel and long tangy mineral finish. — 8 years ago
Amazing pepper taste that will hit your palate hard! — 9 years ago
Great balanced Gruner! Paired with grilled chicken and veggies — 9 years ago

This wine needed a little bit of bottle age. There is an iron streak that once was overpowering. That iron is now integrated with blueberries, raspberries, and white pepper. Medium body and pleasant acidity. — 7 years ago
