Don’t always love white wines, but enjoyed this one a lot — 5 years ago
Smoky and full flavoured, without being too rich. — 6 years ago
Pale gold. Lemon. Prominent minerality and acidity. — 6 years ago
Candied ginger, carrot and carrot peel, little spice and loads of florality. Grippy but mouth watering but heated too! Eccentric wine! — 8 years ago
Super perfumed, really flies out of the glass into the nose from across the table. Mild spice and earth with a mild hint of smokiness. Medium tannins with a nice. Smooth roundness. — 9 years ago
Great with citrus and garlic — 10 years ago

This was a monster out of the gate and held its own. Really impressed. Shows age but not softness. Elegant, open, beeswaxy, beautiful — 12 years ago
Outstanding just what I look for in a wine. — 13 years ago
Oddly enough much better the next day. Slight chill. — 3 years ago
Potential to go even higher with more age. — 5 years ago
Simple, pure fruit. Blood orange, clove and cinnamon on the nose. Smooth on the palate. Very easy to drink with bright red fruit and a well balanced acidity. — 6 years ago

Impressively complex and interesting for a good very good price. — 10 years ago
2014 Prologue. Holy moly! This is unadulterated fun! Love this wine more every vintage. Perfect with André Soltner roasted poussin with pan-roasted carrots and fingerlings. — 11 years ago
Tremendous!!! Thank you, Claffee!!! — 12 years ago
Still young and needing air to open and show better. But still really enjoyable now with interesting g possibilities for aging. — 5 years ago
Dry, but not flinty, with a touch of fruit and a lot of minerality. Peach, apricot, apple, and honey. Light and crisp! — 5 years ago
Slight touch of brett. Added to the wine as the fruit was still present. Was a great one. — 6 years ago
2016 is big and tart and “tasty” right now. Might could calm down a little with more time. — 6 years ago
Had it with fish a l’indienne (perla Meyers) a curry dish. Went together very well. — 8 years ago
Ticks all the boxes of a great wine. Surprised the region has such a well balanced wine. — 9 years ago

Surprisingly light. It starts with a floral overlay - it's there then dissipates into a light finish and then gone. Any easy drink — 12 years ago

We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy.
