Wonderful Cab Franc Rose. We will be drinking a lot of this one. — 8 years ago
Yum! I love the rose season. This is a clean, crisp rose... I would drink it anytime from April thru September. It reminds us of our trip thru the Loire Valley. — 9 years ago
Super pretty fresh deep franc fruit — 10 years ago
Opened a great wine at the wrong time. Clocking at 35yo, like a wise grandpa it has wisdom to share but only talks when it’s quiet. Right after opening it has a mix of ripe, evolved pyrazines but with an hour or so the black olives are there in your face like in cote rotie, with a touch of their brine but without the VA you would expect. dried black fruit makes an appearance, even a medium bodied texture (!!!) which already isn’t Chinon’s strength and fine tannins still with some good grip, leading to a bright lingering acidity. Of course it can’t stay too long in the glass as the age shows some fragility. Still, it delivers — 10 months ago

Nose has chalkboard dust, mashed cherries, raspberry, ripe currant, oak bark, (minor) moist garden soil, milk chocolate bar and moist pipe tobacco.
Palate has crushed cherries, orange peel, ripe black currant, blackberry, graphite and medium tannins. Long finish, amazing bottle this evening.
About two years since our last bottle, doing very, very well this evening, can hold another 6-12Y (2026-32) in proper storage. — 5 years ago
This is an excellent modern-day entry level Cabernet Franc. Dazzlingly simple, yet awash with refreshing weight, dark fruit, Chinese spices, and a subtle dollop of black/green tea. If you are looking for something less obvious go back to red Burgundy. (This red straddles old world structure with new world gloss. I fear gloss will eventually win out. But for now...👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾) — 6 years ago

Beaucoup de chair, super équilibré, vraiment délicieux, coup de cœur. — 12 years ago
Bright medium ruby , perhaps a little more ruby on the rim than the Clos de la Dioterie . More sweetly fruited , with more red fruits than dark , spiced cherry , strawberry, raspberry , rose , roast red pepper, cranberry. Quite rounded tannin , balanced acidity . On the palate mixed summer fruits with strawberry , red cherry with good density, quite juicy but well balanced . Roasted pepper , spicy cherry , wet slate infused finish with medium length. This probably will improve over the next 5 or so years and last well a further 5-8 — 10 months ago

Delicious with our homemade pizza! — 6 years ago
Like this wine but doesn’t have the power that some of his other wines have pencil lead iron cherry fruit - liked it from an aromatic standpoint more than flavor and finish — 7 years ago

Silky smooth tannin, with a dark fruits and bit of earth and spice - far more elegant and complex than the price tag suggests!! Drink this wine!! — 8 months ago
