Minty-eucalyptus, smoked green chiles (in a good way) and fatty bbq smoke on the nose. Elegant mouthfeel with plum, peach skin and dark cherry notes. Finish is cocoa and light tobacco with a hint of soy sauce. Needs some time to fully integrate. — 9 years ago

What an interesting wine! It rounded off a wonderful evening with dear friends at Rouge Tomate in Chelsea, NYC, where the service was as excellent as always. This sherry was made from a famed solera called "GF30" that apparently dated back to the 1940s. Such complexity and intensity. Orange peel, toast, walnuts, salinity, and so much more. Young wine with mild OH on the nose paired with very nice fruit. Plums, prunes, and blackberry on the palate, but lighter than most cabs. Nice finish, and the recommendation was spot on as this wine definitely punches above it's weight at $20+. Curious as to other opinions. — 7 years ago
