Never been a dark liquor kinda gal, but this is quite tasty. Cheers! — 10 years ago
Thick and unctuous, prune napoleon of pickled cherry, acidity driven with the the right balance of fruit n thick tannins, unusually ready for a Taurasi this young, great example , i would drink it with a boar or goat ragu' or a piece of Testun next time — 10 years ago
This is a review of the Napoleon, not the XO.
It is, however, a match for the XO of the big brands. A tremendous depth of complex flavours and remarkable smoothness.
This is fantastic value for money - a really classy cognac. — 10 years ago
Crisp, acidic splash of Semillon//Sauvignon Blanc bright and refreshing paired perfectly with SoundSide's beet & turnip Napoleon smothered with freshly cracked local Blue Crab:):)! Righteous! — 11 years ago

Looks like tea... Sweet grapes and bitter oak... Very rich in taste and full bodied. Smooth texture and the longest drying finish ever. Amazing! — 11 years ago

Given to me as a gift 12 years ago and just finishing the bottle now so not a huge Cognac fan. However this final tasting I could pick up the nuances of pear skin and apple over the alcohol. Starting to see why people pay serious money for ancient cognacs. 17.5. — 10 years ago
Delicious fruit on the nose, medium body, nice heat. — 10 years ago
Delicious! Reserved only for those who have the right palate. — 11 years ago
My father-in-law is the only other person in my family who enjoys drinking Sherry. We put a dent in this fantastic bottle of Hidalgo "Napoleon" Amontillado this afternoon. — 11 years ago

2009 vintage. Super fresh and youthful! Paired extremely well with the lemon curd in our Napoleon. Concentrated pineapple, candied lemon peel, honeysuckle, more white flowers, on the fresher end of the spectrum for Sauternes. — 9 years ago
