This is main stream Italian red and I LOVE IT! 2011 Beni di Batasiolo Barolo . The cork was perfect. The color is light. The legs are thick and slow to fall. The bouquet is elderberry and fresh daisies. The initial palate is blackberry and spice. I would almost swear this was a Napa Cab! The finish is light but very very dry! It is very long! Nama Junmai Ginjo Genshu.
Lots of aniseed and white pepper on the nose with pear, melon and nama-ka.
Flavors mirror the aromas, creamy, lively and vibrant.

This one's big. Maybe not California Zin big, but the fact that it's a touch more restrained makes it more subtle in its spiciness than the US version. Anita says I'm really douchy with this review. She's probably right. — 10 years ago

The wine of tonight is Conn Valley from Anderson's Vineyards 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon estate reserve!!! Ka Pow! The color is opaque and the legs are thick, slow, and dark! The bouquet is fresh berry pie. My palate aeration of this wine is very smooth with no harsh alcohol nose burn - its my own thing I learned from Maximilian Riedel. The initial palate is raspberry and a huge spice attack. There is oak in the long finish with a buttery chocolate smoothness that quickly turns into a dry finish leaving you thirsty for more!!!!! I love it. This is almost to good to drink with food, but a big thick ribeye would explode with flavor following this one. I just wish it were cheaper. — 9 years ago

Ka-razy great stuff. No way I would pick this as a chard. Bordeaux...maybe. Slight oxidation points it in the direction of desert wine but then the dryness sneaks up on you. Honeyed sugars linger at the finish. Beautifully complex. Glad I've got a few of these. 1995 and still going strong. — 10 years ago

Nose of lemon, mineral and butterscotch. Flavor is big and lush. Tropical fruit, vanilla, oak. A touch of acid keeps everything in check so nothing is over the top. Really amazing with a super long finish. Birthday present from KA. 2012 vintage — 8 years ago
This 2011 Teodor is one of the best reds from Slovenia. Blend of 85% Cab and 15% Merlot and absolutely generous and nice in both nose and on the palate. Velvety and thick but at the same time with a great length. Lots of forrest fruits, leather and spice. Great wine ! — 9 years ago
