After 90 minutes however, this became a much more gastronomic champagne with pineapple and powerful autolytic notes of toasted brioche and almonds. Juicy Grenache dominate aromas with red raspberry, strawberry and red cherry fruit. The nose has a nice herbal edge with notes of fresh and dried thyme plus a hint of soy. Wonderful aromatics and texture as usual for Fourrier. The 2018 vintage is a bit more closed than I expected. Pomegranate, cherries, hint of musk, white pepper on the nose. A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 6 years ago
