Extremely serious on palate, masculine, even austere. Not very 2006, in a good way. Mineral, densely textured. Long but needs many years to really blossom. Very fine. — 10 years ago

This is from one of 39 bottles that came from a barrel of Scotch bottled by Bruichladdich under the Port Charlotte label. It was distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2009, with a 7 year age statement. It's sweet bacon on the nose and spicy, smokey maple candy on the palette. — 12 years ago
