A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 12 years ago
Excellent nose, aromas of strawberry and cherry. Perfect balance of flavor and dryness. Excellent, especially for its price. Drinks like a $50+ sparkling. — 8 months ago
Fresh, fruity. Citrus and creamy. Jean charles boisset N21° brut cremant de Bourgogne @5280, Peiroth, 241011 — a year ago
Blackberry bramble, baked black cherry and plum, hints of maraschino, mint and menthol, bell pepper and geranium, cedar, tobacco, and bakers vanilla with whiffs of aged leather jacket on the nose. Blackberry, cherry, juicy raspberry, vanilla extract and weak black tea on the palate with a medium heavy body but a medium short finish. Overall a great wine for pumpkin pie brunch on Christmas morning (no it’s not too early). Merry Christmas! — 4 years ago
An extraordinary bottle that is a near-perfect blanc de blancs. Medium gold in color, the wine has a beautiful mousse even at 25 years of age, with fine bubbles and a tantalizing aroma conveying powerful primary, secondary and tertiary notes. The nose shows fresh and preserved lemon, green and golden apple, acacia, hawthorn, hazelnut, wet stone and flint. On the palate, the wine is dry but has a wonderful medium-bodied richness. There is vibrant, high acidity that gives the wine great energy. Flavors include smoke, flint, wet stone, preserved lemon, green apple, golden apple, dried acacia, hazelnut, and a hint of roasted coffee along with a pleasant saline quality. The wine has a very long finish and is compelling to drink now though it can certainly age for another decade or more. Outstanding. — 6 years ago

Light yellow in color.
Strong nose of apples, yeast, spices, bread, minerals and sea salt.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity, and medium plus sized bubbles.
Dry on the palate with citrus, apples, pears, light earth, yeast, vegetables, spices and bitter herbs.
Nice finish with limes and almonds.
This 13 year old Vintage Champagne feels young and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly.
Rich and extracted with lots of bread notes. Elegant and robust.
Showing nice complexity, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Paired beautifully with fresh oysters.
A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Disgorged in 2020.
12% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Bright medium ruby with quite thin ruby , garnet rim . Quite closed with sweet cassis , touch of clove and ash , violet , dark cherry , wet stone . On the palate more of the cassis and spicy blackberry notes , dark cherry , but mineral and saline also , touch of slate , tobacco . Quite lean and refreshing, balanced alcohol . Quite high acidity and grippy tannin . Good mineral and cassis tinged finish . Elegant and refined . Needs a bit of time , will probably improve over the next 5-8 years and will last well a further 10 or so . — a year ago
Opens up nicely with a lovely nose and reasonably long finish. Vanilla, leather, and berry essence. — 7 years ago
