Excellent mature Burg of earth, ripe black fruits and a complex weighty yet stimulating and silky lithe texture carrying through to finish. Went well with the of best Mary fusion glass noodle chapchei with mackerel fish and hints at its broad utility. Aged well. 3 bottles bought in ‘05, GL32, hopefully have one more. — 5 years ago
Fun easy drinking red, juicy quality with a bit of tart to let you know it's natural. Amazing ruby red color. Very affordable. Good for a first step into the natural wine world. — 7 years ago
Spot-on, classic, perfectly delineated Saint Joseph. This is the elegant and pretty side of Syrah. Flowing waves of violets and black pepper lift effortlessly out of the glass with bright red fruits. Mid palate is silk and nearly weightless with fine tannins. Low alcohol and neutral oak profile allow for a very pure expression. Hints of game on the finish with a lingering minerality and a fresh, spicy peppercorn character that would be lovely with a variety of meats and herbs. Beautiful wine that I look forward to revisiting over the next 2-3 years. — 8 years ago
L'elegance d'un Bordeaux avec le petit extra de générosité. Une puissance mûre, avec cette belle fluidité. On en veut encore. — 10 years ago
Pale straw colour with hints of green apple. A bouquet of tropical fruits with some herbaceousness and again that green apple edge. Juicy lemon, melon and grapefruit flavours with a light mineral edge and perhaps some dry herbs on the finish. Not overly acidic and although initially quite concentrated it opened up quite quickly. Worth noting that the vineyard's tasting notes advise drinking it within the first 2 years of release. Overall a good value, if atypical, Marlborough (which we found in Costco) though alas not at all to my wife's taste! — 10 years ago

just as the 2006 sold out, Laina unearthed a small stash of the 2005 at the winery and carried it into the tasting room. Rich, fresh, expansive, & enduring in the long palate. Highly recommended, & very little left. — 11 years ago
Super value. Wonderful wine. A weeknight wine you can look forward to. — 12 years ago
Cherry and cranberry aromas that match the pallet. Forest floor and a little toasty oak in the background that is a nice touch and not overly done. Would drink this again. — 6 years ago

Not a 1er Cru, but it should be! Lovely Vosne. Velvet, sappy cherry fruit with Vosne spice. Hints of vanilla and stones. A whiff of oak char on the nose, but less so on the palate. Decanted for 2 hours prior to consumption. — 4 years ago
