Bright, clear ruby with a great nose of cassis, blackberry, violet and mint.
Beautiful length and finesse. Great impression of crushed fruit with hints of forest floor and cedar. The finish leaves a lasting impression of sweet red fruit and supported by a soft blanket of tannins. This is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove - just lovely — 7 years ago
Well named. Hard pressed to not think this was a modern style St Joseph. Ripe fruit, opens up to more tertiary notes and herbs. Well crafted. — 7 years ago
Minerally and flavorful. Great value — 8 years ago

Still young, but definitely earthy and fruity. — 4 years ago
Upon opening very light and vibrant and a few minutes later mellowed out for a nice fullness. Slightly acidic with soft tannins, notes of vanilla, spice, almost a caramel flavor, darker fruits like cherry and plum, and a hint of violet. Beautiful color on this 2013 Vintage! — 6 years ago
One of my favourite 🇨🇱 wines 👍 @ £55 worth every penny - great now but will be superb in 4-5yrs 😎

Aroma of plastic and gooseberries and Lemon. Slight funkiness like musky grape skins. Taste nice medium body. Good acidity medium. Slight salinity hints oh lemon custard. Currents. — 10 years ago
Medium to dark burgundy in color, edge showing some brick hue, smells of anise, violet, cinnamon, white pepper and fig, medium to full body, very refined sweet tannin, started out slightly muted with high acidity, takes more than an hour to open up, tastes of cedar, tobacco, clove, black cherry, black berry, and anise, extremely smooth and balanced mouthfeel, with a long and lingering finish. Beautiful! — 10 years ago
Nicola catena is the Robert Mondavi of Mendoza they advanced in 15 years what it took the rest of the world 200 years to get to this level. They take from the five family vineyards for this wine. The historic rows are now put on the label. This is the best vineyards and they look for the best location in those vineyards Angelica named after his mother and this is the mother clone material. All the wineries built in Spanish or Italian architecture. Dark berry fruit blackberry and blueberry fruit with notes of licorice spice dark tobacco spice. Another vineyard has a dessert effect because of its low altitude this site gives it structure. Adrianna vineyards is one of the highest and this is the most important violet flowers and freshness and acidity — 11 years ago
Loved the 2010. Deep flavors. — 4 years ago
There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now 😍 — 5 years ago

deep, dense perfume of violet, lavender. dried cherries, hint of muddy soil. balanced among fruitness, acidity(med plus), structure. med plus tannin. lovely! — 10 years ago
1983 vintage. At The Ledbury - paired with lamb course. Fantastic nose - mature and developed. Cedar, leather, dried rose and violet petals, ripe plums and blackcurrants, sous-Bois - complex. On the palette, medium body, medium plus acidity and concentration, medium tannins - fully integrated and gorgeously textured. Very long finish. Complex and elegant. A great example of an '83. — 10 years ago
Impressive complexity and concentration. Nose of dark ripe fruit, truffle, and violet. Silky smooth palate, round tannins. Enjoyable now, but will really improve with time! — 10 years ago
Crushed violet. Leather. Dried red fruit. Killer if not still a touch tannic — 12 years ago

Q is for Quinquina. Smells like a fortified wine with slight currant aromas, a good amount of acid gets the tongue tingling, the raisin and currant aromas come through the flavors but the body is light compared to a sherry or tawny port. A very nice aperitif... and we'll see how it does in a cocktail! #atoz2021 — 4 years ago
