At first this Alsacian wine presented huge lees characteristics, then opened up with Meyer lemon, peaches, and yellow flowers. An oiliness on the palate, coating and lasting. Paired exceptionally with both Roquefort cheese and a white asparagus, mushroom quiche. — 7 years ago
Medium bodied, excellent sipping wine. Minor tannins of berries, violets and vanilla, with a subtle spicy finish. — 8 years ago
Lovely & delicious, soft tannins but good structure. — 8 years ago
Burgundy color with edge showing brick color, smell of Roquefort cheese, orange peel, dried apricot, fig, earth, still have good acidity with soft tannin and smooth finish. — 9 years ago
Mislabel delectable. Ch de Roquefort is the producer — 11 years ago
@délectable : CRI domaine st Martin des champs ! Rien à voir
@Xavier Davila : hyper bon en fait ! On ne l'a pas bu au bon moment. C'est une vendange tardive. Au top sur le roquefort. — 7 years ago
The 2000 Quinta do Noval Porto Colheita Tawny is superb, showing warm and welcoming notes of caramel, dried fruit, honey, sultana along with a pinch of toast. The mind immediately jumps to pairings like stilton, Roquefort, or dried fruit, though, surprisingly the staff at Noval recommend trying it with fresh carrot, unpeeled. I love the this Port's vibrancy and balance, the palate bright, like a newly minted penny, its brimming over with walnut shells, figs, golden raisins, and spice cake. Just lovely. 20.5% ABV | Sample — 8 years ago
Quite a strong and dry cab. Would pair great with a Camembert or Roquefort — 8 years ago
So delicious! Like drinking honeyed pears. Loved with roquefort on toasted baguette. — 8 years ago
Our 4th wine at our dinner party last night for desert of bread & butter pudding - served before the cheese like any English gentleman would so we could enjoy the port! However Corinna loves Roquefort so she kept some Sauternes back for her cheese😬👠 Thank you Chris & Andy for this excellent wine! — 8 years ago
Royalty with a veal chop and Roquefort butter. — 9 years ago
With wonderful aromas of rose, gilly-flower, jasmine, spices, crystallized citrus fruit… with velvety bodies, they are sumptuous as an aperitif, with exotic food, smoked salmon or even with cheese, especially with French cheeses such as Munster or Roquefort. It will be your taste buds' delight. — 9 years ago
Really interesting wine. V strong (14.5 per cent). Full bodied, earthy and very warming on the mouth. I had this with Roquefort cheese and it seemed to be able to go very well with it. — 10 years ago
Absolutely PHENOMENAL WITH Roquefort !!!! — 11 years ago
Really great, smooth red wine. — 11 years ago
One of the best whites I've had in many a moon. Happy Easter! — 7 years ago
Was absolutely amazing. Depth yes, but fine and mineraly. Had it at the end of the meal at Pascals, with a roquefort cheese drizzled with honey. — 7 years ago
Bright red fruit and floral nose. Candied, but elegant. Very nice — 8 years ago
Unbelievably funky, acidic nose of Roquefort, feet, and rotting earth with a surprisingly fruity, slightly balsamic feeling over the tongue. Develops with endless complexity over hours in the glass. The cork I pulled came up stained and dirty, almost portending wine flaws, but this was a gorgeous bottle from start to finish for those who like Terroir and yeast-driven wines. — 9 years ago
Dark burgundy in color, medium to full body, smells of sardine, cranberry, cedar and roquefort cheese, high acidity with tastes of licorice, plum, clove, anise, pecan and fig, firm tannin and a long finish. — 9 years ago
Black fruits, a bit savory. Easy to drink. Beautiful story behind! — 9 years ago
2000, Chateau Haut-Roquefort, Cadillac Moelleux, Semillon Dessert. Wow! This was really good. It aged very well. Beautiful deep gold color with tons of dried fruit, caramel, molasses and dried almonds. A really good after dinner glass. — 10 years ago
Avec du Roquefort. — 11 years ago
