Blackcurrant and spice box with good concentration. There's a bit of forest floor funk in there, especially on the finish. For the price, this is a great buy. — 8 years ago

Light and smooth. Medium tannin. Dry and not acidic. — 9 years ago
The cork foil started to bulge so I expedited drinking. It was perfect. Saved in the nick of time. It was 8 bucks at Costco. I don't know how long it was on the shelf at home. If I see it again I'll buy more. — 10 years ago

Hints of tart cranberry, full bodied. — 9 years ago
Great, as always. From old vine Carignan, this wine is densely spicy with an abundance if fruit and lots of (unusual and refined) character. A real treasure for Faugeres and the South. — 10 years ago
Smooth and warm and pretty with a lovely blackcurrant finish — 10 years ago

Painfully French. Garrigue and dusty fruit. Layer on layer and wonderful acidity — 7 years ago
Top end Faugeres in excellent shape, though still a good 6-8 years from its peak. Just returning from a dumb phase and heavy with blackberries, pumbs, pepper, and hints of leather and oak (though not too much). Glad I bought a few cases of this from them at the Fête de Bacchus back in 2009. — 7 years ago
Incredibly expressive nose of dried rose petal and forest floor gives way surprisingly round body with a suave grip and structure. Licorice, candied violets, lingering warm biscuit? — 8 years ago

This is perhaps a little closed right now. Syrah-dominant with a fair bit of oak-treatment so will need a little while to blossom. Although it had the mellow character of an early-drinking wine, the winemaker told me that it needs 15 years to show its best. In fact, when I told him the 2006 I opened the other week seemed a little closed he told me to forget about it for another 10 years. Clearly one for the long-haul. — 7 years ago
