Lovely full bodied Woody yumm — 7 years ago
One of the 3 second wines of 5th growth Haut Bages Liberal. Even better than the last time - typical Pauillac barnyard notes. 92 — 9 years ago
This wine is going to surprise a few people this year. Soft tannins and nice florals already. — 10 years ago
Bordeaux wine dinner; 6/18/15: Pichon Lalande 1990 - Lighter color than others, I think passing its prime. A little dry on the finish but perfectly nice still. Gruaud Larose 1989 - Very classic nose and palate of cedar and pine notes. Most silky palate of the bunch. Two at the table thought it was wine of the night. Not as much to my taste but very much classic Gruaud. Cos 1986 - Funky barnyard nose. Deep palate with still strong tannin, but plenty of fruit coming through. Liked it but there was some brett there that to me, hurt. Lynch Bages 1985 - For me, the wine of the night, largely due to the truly stunning nose. A tad dry on the palate but still long finish of dark fruit. — 10 years ago
Sill great nose, lively — 11 years ago
Well structured elegantly balanced wine, with a long finish. Much nicer than the Haut-Bages Libéral 2010 which proceeded it.... — 11 years ago
Very nice with the fresh pasta bought our first evening in Sitges — 12 years ago

2014. All around great wine. — 8 years ago
The 1993 Pichon LaLande is great right now. Younger daughter's birthyear wine, drank with '89 Lynch Bages at Christmas dinner. More fruit than spice/tar in nose. Good acidity with softer tannins in the finish. Nice cherry fruit on the palate. Fruit lingered well in the finish. Drink up over next couple years. — 9 years ago
Delightful crisp and dry but somehow had a bit of sweet fruit undertone. Drank this with zucchini stuffed cod - a perfect combo to sweet and salty. — 10 years ago
2002. Surprised to love this Spanish Cabernet today at Dos Cielos. — 10 years ago
Started super tight and tannic but opened beautifully. Not too sweet. Bright. Medium body. 2012 — 11 years ago
Wonderful nose - macerated berry, tomato leaf, mild cheese (cheddar maybe) white pepper.
Flavor. Medium alcohol, medium high acid, silky and delicious, nose matches taste - tighter tannins. Very good. — 11 years ago
Pretty good wine from Pla del Bages. Strong, with personality. — 12 years ago
Wow! First night is Barcelona... — 12 years ago
Very true. Will seek more. — 7 years ago
Black cherry, worn leather, and licorice are nothing new together, but this has a skillful balance of brightness and brooding that keeps me plenty interested. Unexpected blend. A great bargain. — 8 years ago

Needs some time to open up - very fair for the price. 2007 — 10 years ago
Wow. Cork went pewf on exit like a grenade. Initial nose of stewed cherry, and camphor gave way to a wonderful taste of dark fruit, charcoal and some tertiary flavors. Citrus, lead and some tar...candied nuts... Awesome stuff. Looks 20yrs younger. Beat out the Lynch Bages tonight. — 10 years ago
Vin assez gras nez flatteur — 11 years ago
