Château Canon

Château Du Gazin

Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Enough age to bring the fruit intensity down a notch, & man that’s some good fruit- emphasis on the cassis & blackberries. Usually not a mega fan of Bordeaux, but this fit the bill for a shared bottle with friends, drink outside on the banks of the Hudson. — 6 months ago

Complex Beaujolais, a little bit (delightfully) bitter, great for slow sipping. Best chilled for 15 and left to open up. — 3 years ago

All zest at first, develops firm yellow orchard fruit, orange oil, and anise with time, mineral throughout and saline on the finish but pure, not microbial. Paired with brick chicken.

Château La Fleur Cailleau

Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

2019 vintage. Château La Fleur Cailleau, Canon-Fronsac. Bought in 1982 by Paul Barré (also Château La Garde, Fronsac) and managed these days by his son Gabriel and his wife Edith. Biodynamically farmed since 1990. Very impressive indeed, with an exemplary purity of fruit, ripe tannin and energetic acidity. Highly recommended. Abv. 14,5%. — 2 years ago

— 7 years ago
