Clear as a bell. Fruity nose — 6 years ago
Yet another Italian producer of natural wine knocking it out of the park. A polite kind of funk, smoke, resinous, dried apricots, loaminess, with a floral tinged finish that lingers pleasantly — 7 years ago

Heart of Tuscany. 97% Sangiovese, 3% Canaiolo. Castelnuovo Berardenga. Indigenous yeast, cement and steel vats, no filtration/clarification, no sulfates added, 13500 bottles produced, organic farming. 13th century cellars. Barnyard, truffle, plum, strawberry, funky! East-west facing vineyards. Clay-sand. — 5 years ago

Tasted January 2013
A “young Brunello” produced from vineyards at 200 to 450 m asl with poor marl soil close to Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Fermentation by indigenous yeasts, long maceration, ageing 24 months in oak and 6 months in bottle.
100% Sangiovese.
Brilliant ruby red.
Intense and clean aromas. Excellent correspondence of taste to nose, outstanding freshness but also elegance and persistence.
Goes well with roasted game and aged cheese. — 8 years ago
Cherries and champagne notes on the nose. Delicate and sweet pear and berry palate with clean finish. Lingering dry apple. — 8 years ago
Very good table wine. Classical Valpolicella wine., 2016 vintage. Very fruit forward, medium tannins, excellent with food. Pairs well with tomato based Italian cuisine. — 5 years ago
Cherry flavour loved it. Really nice summer wine. — 5 years ago
A subtle old world merlot that has soft berry fruits & little tannin. Hints of pepper on the aftertaste.
Would compliment a roast pork or chicken dish very well. — 6 years ago
Aromatic, but a little too much oak and alcohol coming through. Fresh and racy, coming out of Castelnuovo del Abate, one of the hotter subzones of Montalcino climate wise. All the way down at the bottom of southern Montalcino. South facing slopes and lots of sun. Maybe too much. — 8 years ago
