Huge nose of plum, lavender, strawberry jam, raspberry jam, vanilla, almond extract, and cranberry. Big red fruit on the palate of dark cherry, fresh raspberry, cranberry, as well as black tea, licorice, menthol, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, leather, white pepper, sage, oak, and blackberry. Medium plus tannins, high alcohol, and high acid. — 5 years ago

Even better 4 1/2 years after the first time I tried it. This wine/vintage over-performs. Comparable to some of the higher end riservas. — 6 months ago
