Tar, underbrush, anise, rose, raspberry. Bracing but not aggressive tannins. Really nice. Not as exciting the second night, which leads me to think it's at or near its peak. I've got more, so let's do this @Larry Frierson ! — 7 years ago
A really good Pinot — 7 years ago
Very drinkable, quite sweet as Pinot Grigio goes though. — 9 years ago
Chewy and reverberating. Really classic decomposing rose bushes and garden herbs. Clarity of fruit and beautiful structure. A long walk in fall blackberry fields. — 10 years ago
Just fell apart over this.
Peach and wet stone on the front and the acidity flushes into caramel and grapefruit. A LOT happening for a reasonable summer bottle. Order by the case. — 11 years ago

Another northern Piedmont Nebbiolo. Blended with Vespolina and Croatina. Lots of tar, wet leather, mineral and ferrous, granite and rust from the volcanic soil, crushed rose petals, anise seed, ripe berry, blood-orange zest, good acids come through the earthy tannins. Tangerine in colour with a brassy note. Pinot Grigio is a red skinned variety. 8 months on skins. A fascinating wine the likes of which one only sees in Italy. Nose of earthy minerality with profound intensity from the skin contact with cherry and red apple notes. A cross between Pinot Noir and Rose as an overall experience. Unique. — 9 years ago

A more classic Barolo with structure and tannins. A seducing nose of cherry, rose, sweet liquorice and sweet almonds that kept on growing. The taste took many hours to evolve so this needs time, drink 2020 - 30+. A very impressive wine. — 11 years ago
2010 vintage beauty the florals on nose and fruit on palette make for a very good #barbaresco #sommchat — 11 years ago
1994 vintage. Deep muscular, notes of rose and tar still evident but on the palate quite meaty and savoury, awesome with 45 day dry aged beef — 11 years ago
2011, Rose wine — 12 years ago
Slightly acidic, drinks like a rose.

From P&V:
Smells like ginger-lemon tea! Also shows some mandarin juice, dried mixed citrus peel and wet stone scents. Nice one. Chewy texture with talc-like tannins in a weave over juice, ginger-lemon tea flavours. Exceptional texture, length, vitality and structure. A serious white wine of great drinkability and detail. Friendly enough too. — 7 years ago
Why can’t more Rosé be like this?? — 7 years ago
Lovely combo of fruit, acid and a spritzy zing. Ideal on a warm evening. Lovely food matcher. — 9 years ago
Takes some time open but is an excellent choice, well balanced — 9 years ago
Deep fruit flavor, acidic — 10 years ago
More tannic than the 2012 vintage. Darker fruit profile too. 😍 these wines — 11 years ago
Earthy, spiced and delicately toasty oak influence. Plummy, liqurice, dark cherry and spicy/toasty oak influence. Firm youthfull tannins and fresh acidity supporting balnced structure. +15 years, 90p — 12 years ago
