Agree that this is one note and very off putting on the open; after 45 minute decant this wine is beautifully complex with loamy earthiness, bright red fruit and light mint that dances just barely on the tongue. Wonderfully silky and smooth texture. Paired incredibly with a seared lamb loin chop, but more so with our farro tossed with shallots, grain mustard, mushrooms and pan sauce. Loved this and can't wait to open the other two. — 10 years ago

Black cherry compote, Provençal herbs, crushed rocks, underbrush, licorice, white pepper, a kiss of something animal. Still closed but love the edgy texture the acid gives to this wine. There's this stony tannin profile that gives complexity to the wine. Paired well with farro stuffed duck, mushrooms, roasted veg — 9 years ago
