After about an hour very earthy old world style on the palate - slightly dense. Dark fruit, prune, cinnamon, leather, damp soil. Oak is prominent and finish was long and refreshing. Everything you’d want in an amarone. Burst of flavor at the beginning that then settles back into a relaxed, elegant finish. On the palate, some black plum mixed with a very faint dried cranberry or cherry. It all resolved into a wonderfully balanced finish, that is almost floral, but it’s more deep and complex than just floral. — 6 years ago
