Wow, this blows away almost every other chardonnay I've ever had. Like a Cantillon gueuze (one of the premier Belgian lambic blends for the beer-illiterate), it has a strong oaky character and some barnyard funk, some buttery notes and stone fruit. This alone made coming to Hawkes Bay worth it. — 8 years ago
Very sour, so give it a couple of tastes, and reap the rewards of the subtle apricot. Probably best not to look up what the name means till later. — 8 years ago
The winner of the six Oude Geuezes: Lindeman's, timmermans, giardin, boon, Cantillon. But still not as good as 3F, the world champion Oude gueuze. — 9 years ago
One of the most interesting smelling Pinots I've ever had. Reminds me of Cantillon Kriek in the nose with so much weird electric cherry sour tart funk. A great flavour that supports soft berry and fruit punch. A wine that doesn't exist. — 10 years ago

Dried strawberry (strawberry base for this sour) ... and citrus rind. More exciting than some of the Brussels sours to be had @cantillon — 7 years ago
More full bodied than Cantillon in Brussels - framboise — 8 years ago
1,2 and 3 year lambics from Cantillon et al. Gun powder, pencil lead, sharp, lemon zest, sour and delicious. — 8 years ago
Slightly flat but still so so good — 9 years ago
This is an excellent sour cherry cider. Beautiful cherry nose and reminiscent of Cantillon Kriek, but sadly missing that all-important in your face level of funk. — 9 years ago
Smells similar to Cantillon lambic. Apricots, apple cider, birch juice, lemon curd, touch of funk. Concentrated with great minerality and complexity. Excellent, will buy again. — 9 years ago
This year's Zwanze is a new version of Cuvée de Florian, which is a beer Jean made for his son. It's basically Iris (hoppy lambic) aged on a small amount of cherries -- something like half the amount used in the normal Kriek. — 10 years ago

Wonderfully softened, lemons, hay & leather — 11 years ago
Funky fruit citrus nose but taste is straight up sour cherry, pomegranate, cranberry zone. Could pass for a crazy Cantillon. In other words, it rules. — 8 years ago
Best gueuze I've ever had. Second best beer of any style, behind 2007 Cantillon Blabaer. — 9 years ago
A worthy contender to Cantillon and 3F — 9 years ago
It beat the Cantillon today! — 10 years ago
La Stoppa's storied skin-contact Malvasia candia di aromatico, Ortugo + Trebianno, 30 days on skins. Bring on the funky orange wine-- (a Belgian Cantillon lambic ale offered for comparison danced to the same funky beat) — 10 years ago

At the mothership. This is actually the Cantillon product for the 10th Anniversary of Moeder Lambic. Fucking great fresh tartness, lingering complexity from the cab franc, and a strong oak finish. Spectacular! — 7 years ago
