Wild herbs and roses, spiced plum and pomegranate. Campari notes and musty damp furniture waft through from time to time amongst a sweet five star anise. Tart and sour berry like acidity, tannin has minimised and is barely noticeable. The only real thing lacking is the finish which ends somewhat abrupdtly. The nose and palate certainly bare enough interest but i wish that finish supported it. — 8 years ago
Apple-y and fresh with orange rind, reminiscent of Campari — 8 years ago
As I'm writing this rating it's changing and opening up more. Decant and let it breathe. It has dark bitter cherry that's bold with a lasting finish. If you like Campari, you'll like this. — 9 years ago
The subtlest Campari like vermouth. — 9 years ago
Delectable marathon! Pretty much the best thing on earth that is stupid silly underpriced ----> SHERRY. Larger production but always right down the pipe. Love me my Tio. Note: all booze incredibly tasty cocktail. The Proper Topper I named it with my NJ partner in wine - the Cork Maven - rocks topped with fino topped with Campari topped with bubbles. Trust me. Rio Nelson here is also a huge fan. — 10 years ago
Bitter, roots and bark, dark fruits. Think Campari. Absolutely perfect with dark chocolate. Wow. — 10 years ago
Easy drinking and delicious. Campari/aromatized wine/amaro notes — 9 years ago
Don't get it twisted--Campari will always have a place in my heart. BUT I have to say that this is really a superior product. A very apt replacement, especially delicious in a Negroni. No artificial color or flavor. — 9 years ago
Super interesting Campari aromatics, fresh, structured, chemistry is wild- full Malo, higher pH than it tastes. — 9 years ago
Suck it Campari — 10 years ago
The Campari to Beauroy's Cynar, which I think is the opposite of critical predictions. This one took a few hours to blossom, unlike it's eagerly profound counterpart, but got to an awesome zone of beeswax and richness, with quite a mineral kick. Great wine! This bottle would probably beat its friend in a few years. — 10 years ago
Iodine, Campari, cough syrup. Still... good fun — 10 years ago

Elevage in cement tanks has really seen the freshness of this wine take centre stage with aromas of tart red fruits, some dried cranberry, blackcurrant pastille, some leafiness with slight orange zest and Campari like bitters coming through too. Delicious on it own but with that perfect pitched acidity and leathery tannin profile go at this with wild boar Ragu for extra pleasure 🍝 — 8 years ago
Nice Campari alternative — 8 years ago
Sangio with a bit of Caniolo and Syrah. Feels txt book Chianti- floral, red fruits, fennel, orange rind and Campari with little noticeable oak. Savoury and medium bodied, go forth with some food in toe for maximum enjoyment — 8 years ago
Campari lovers rejoice! Remember hanging at Leopold's on S. Main St in AA. I loved their kegs. — 9 years ago
Second day stunner! It's got a Campari note going with a underripe blackberry, ferns, muddled cocktail cherry, light twizzler accents, acidity is like a no wake zone compared to yesterday but I can still tell it had dual volvo pentas. — 9 years ago
On the scale of Campari but less herb and more sweet — 9 years ago
Orange peel, wet wool, silky, Campari, delicious juicyness. Not getting any better with age so go ahead drink up! — 10 years ago
