Aromas of red berries, dried rose, cedar and tobacco show outstanding delineation and pick up woodsmoke and herb nuances as the wine opens up. Sweet and seamless in texture, offering mineral-accented red currant, cherry and blood orange flavors that spread out steadily on the back half. Lovely rose gold color, with a clean and fresh nose. Fruit, minerals, flowers.. Everything I would want in a rose. Plenty of strawberry, tart cherry, watermelon, white and red rose petals and dried herbs. Fruit shines on the palate with plenty of acidity to carry you to a pleasant finish. The 1975 vintage tasted 2015 at age 40 is brick coloured with a garnet hue. This wine is showing its age as a Slimmer and leaner version than it was a decade ago and now features prominent savoury notes . Currently Showing ripe plum, black sage, strawberry compote, low tannins, leather, thin bodied and well integrated. This wine at age 40 gives pleasure and a taste of the characteristics Bordeaux is known for even at its ripe age. Enjoy with ripe cheese, savoury and delicate antipasti, and red meat hors doeuvres. — 11 years ago
