Paradise Springs a Local winery to me developed a well balanced Cabernet that could compete with any Napa Cabernet that I currently have in my wine cellar. Hitting all the necessary smokey tannins and with deep hints of tobaccos and rich flavors of blackberry. Hints of oak seep through the richness of the wine as the dryness of the Cabernet leave and echo of desire to drink more. Truly a wonderfully rich wine for such a local winery. A delectable red for an everyday drink of sorts. — 10 years ago
Another outstanding effort from Greg Brewer at Melville. The indigene series of their Small Lot collection is almost always my favorite. Brilliant strawberry on the nose coming from clone 115, but the use of indigeneous yeast (as opposed to innoculation) always seems to impart a subtle complexity to this wine despite being a single clonal bottling. Terrific spice on the nose and palate that I always associate with Melville (but far more subtle and integrated that what one finds in the Verna's, for example), this is what Santa Rita Hills pinot is all about. This is not my favorite incarnation of the 115 Indigene - that was the 2006 - but this is still a terrific wine. Across the board, for my money Melville is the best quality/price ratio for pinot you're going to find anywhere in the Central Coast. — 10 years ago

Rich ripe fruit. Black currants and baking spices. A bit floral on the nose. Sad I had to share this one. — 11 years ago

Bought this bottle 5 years ago. I really liked this wine back then but my tastes have changed a lot. I was happy that this turned out to be much more enjoyable than I thought it would. Quite nice. — 7 years ago
It has been a long time ago (2013). All I remember is that is was an excellent wine — 9 years ago
Wow. Absolutely terrific offering from Brewer-Clifton. At 11 years, this has an incredible nose of spiced rhubarb, dried strawberries, and a sagebrush undertone that adds terrific complexity. Has the classic spice one picks up from the Melville Verna's pinot, but is much more subdued and integrated into the wine, adding to its complexity. Wonderfully balanced, this wine probably has several more years of life left but is drinking beautifully right now. Probably the best Brewer-Clifton I've had. — 9 years ago

Elegant, nice balance of tropical fruit, a touch of oak, a bit of acidity. — 9 years ago
One of the best Pinot Noir's I've had. Exceptional rendition of the fruit that comes from Sta. Rita Hills. Great cohesion, powerful yet elegant. Whiffs of wild strawberry coupled with boysenberry. Defined flavors of spice, loamy earth and the return of the berries. Ends with slight spice and roses. Great balance of acidity and tannins. Marvelous wine. — 9 years ago
