25 year anniversary of this wine. I have been a Peter Franus fan for a long time. This zin is medium ruby, black and white pepper, clove, cedar, red cherry, vanilla on the nose--the wood is definitely pushing through, but not overpowering. On the palate, more blue/black fruit emerges, blackberry mainly. Tannins still pretty dry, alcohol high. I think this can rest even longer but it's great now too. Awesome!!!

Liked the 2004 Brandlin better but this was drinking well. — 5 years ago

This a delightful zin full of character and spice. Deep ruby plum and blackberry on the nose with mild hints of vanilla and toast. The peppery spice on the palate is pure zin with a zesty sweetness from the ripeness of the grapes. Beautiful wine and easy to pair with spicy food or something rich. — 5 years ago

PF 2014 Brandlin Estate Zinfandel c/o Mount Veeder.
We’re talking grandma’s homemade jam, balsamic reduction and a whiff of gasoline. Some heat on the backend but nothing a few years won’t take care of for you. Very pleasing and an entirely hedonistic experience for those that like to wrestle in the grass. — 5 years ago
Very easy to drink, light bodied wine with a rich but delicate balance of fruit, earthiness and light spice. Nothing in this wine is overbearing. It's smoothness and hint of cranberry would make this good with pork, chops or vanilla ice cream with hot fudge. — 9 years ago

Well balanced and mostly secondary. Black fruit takes a back seat to graphite. Tannins still need time to soften — 3 years ago
